Is Dong Zhuo replaced with Li Jue or Guo Si at the start? The gif and map differ so I wasn't sure. For events/missions to add I would be happy to read through the book again to find things for you.

The "Supreme Marshal" is ruling the area of Dong Zhuo in the gif, but on the map, it shows that Dong Zhou is still in charge, thus showing the area as split rather than unified, as per the gif.
The Supreme Marshal would be Li Jue. Which should be the faction, since Lu Bu cut off Dong Zhuo's head before 194.

The picture in the GIF is the 'faction map' pic from the original mod, the portrait is the 'loading screen symbol' from the same faction of the original game - didn't notice they were different.
All other faction map\loading symbols are matching.

Ah ok, just checking. The issue with Liu Bei starting out near Shu would be my next point. Removing Tao Qian and moving Liu Bei to Xu Zhou(Tao Qians starting position) would fix that.

Thanks for the map - it goes into the reference folder for later.
I won't even pretend that I know who is who and where they are - I haven't gotten that deep into the details yet. My idea is to upload a real beta version which should in principle just lack the battle units and a complex script. That version will include the music, loading screens, complete UI, strat models etc and right now the installer is racking up about 1GB.
I still want to add the three wonders and give the script for it a spin and then the beta should be right for release. Depending on fx and units it could end up easily at double the size in the end.
Ouch, well the bigger mods for Med2 and RTW reach around 3 gigs finished so its to be expected. I'll work out a list of general events so you can work on your script.

Wow man, Gigantus, you are reshaping the Three Kingdoms mod? Awesome news!! I always wanted to play it, but it wasn't in a good state as far as I know. It's fantastic that you got to work on it. Can't wait for the first beta release! Great work!

I am very very eager to play this mod when it comes out .
I play a bunch of RTK games from Koei, where the game is heavily officer centric, everything you do involves the officer. The characters in RTK also makes the three kingdoms novel and era in general is also significant to this era. So my question would be how are you going to implement the officers in this game?
Other than that, I'm looking forward to seeing the three kingdoms world in the Total War world.

The original version had some buildings that apparently were supposed to give 'training' to generals (named characters) - I am planning to use them via traits.
Some RPG like stuff like missions or a sequence of events to be fulfilled are thoughts that I need to follow up. If you have some feasible ideas what might be in line with the story line then you are welcome to let me know.
I also have in the back of my mind the 'unfaithful soldier' scripting we used in 1648 to force the player to use generals with their armies or risk desertion of captains at a frightening rate.
I've always wanted a mod for Ancient China and I'm glad Gigantus is working on porting one
