John duca - I am pretty sure the heights map issue will be resolved with next patch. Not sure when it will be released but if I had to guess it would be in the next few days, most likely this weekend.
Also new sandwatch in next patch, I hope! I didn't like the head (lol) so Gig and I created something new.

Is there a way you could script the ai in future to not put all their generals into one army. I hated destroying 3/4 of yuan clan generals in one battle as gongsun zan.
Also a minor suggestion could u have it so the generic general models have armor on instead of their civil clothes. I noticd this on cao clan that cao xiu and cao ang who have armor in portrait but in battle are very ill equiped. Just a visual aspect but i think makes more enjoyable to watch them fight. I guess for strategists this model makes sense but not for other clans.
And more on models, i think u need to set unique models for every faction so in the case of u bribing away a general he keeps his uniqe model. Probably alot of work thouygh.

The battle models of (some) generals and captains is being changed in an upcoming patch.
As far as the unique strat_models, each faction can only have a maximum of 8 unique strat_models. Plus strat_models are assigned by trait levels for a specific faction. Let's take Taishi Ci for example. For him to have a unique strat_model, he must be assigned a trait with a specific level with a specific strat_model attached in the list for the Yangzhou faction. If you play as the Sun Clan and bribe Taishi Ci, for Taishi Ci to keep his strat_model his trait and specific trait level and strat model must be the same for the Sun Clan's list. Sound confusing? It is a bit, but in simpler terms the number of unique strat_models per faction is limited and the specific character, trait, level, and model must be identical and it is impossible for every character to retain their unique strat_models when changing factions. Some we can accommodate for, but for the most part a character will only have a unique strat_model for the faction they start the game with.

Now the game feels more stable..i play with Sun clan . don't know if you fixed it or i'm just lucky but no crash so far..didnt tried yet the siege battles because i heard of some bugs with gates and walls.
