Thread: General Movement Points! Help!

    Icon1 General Movement Points! Help!

First off, I love..And I mean LOVE this mod! But one thing that irks me to no end is that my random nobody captains have twice the marching range to get to where they need to be. It isn't supplies because even supplied my best generals can only go so far...While my lesser generals can't even take a few steps to get where they need to be. Honestly I could live with it at first, it makes the pace of the game longer and makes every choice of where to send my generals count even more, BUT! Once I realized that the computer's generals didn't have any restrictions on their movement points it frustrated me that they could march up and down and into my territory with impunity...And my guys had to drag their feet around.

Also, why does the computer insist on sending armies from one corner of the map alllllll the way to some remote and far off location? This tends to be a problem with the Liu Clan and Huinan.

You can modify the movement points if we look into that, seems worthwhile..

Have a look into the mod's descr_characters file, there you will find an entry for named characters and close to it the movement points value. This value should be identical\close to the movement point value of the 'general' (captain) section.

If you wish to edit these points then please do so by using Notepad, other editors might leave hidden formatting and thereby corrupt the file. The effects will show immediately afaik.

The lone trek issue might have to do with some distribution of region pixels, normally used to tease the AI to invade otherwise neglected regions. Like putting a France pixel into Scotland - that way France thinks it is neighbored with Scotland and includes it into attack calculations.
I'll check when I get back beginning of May.
