Here we assign Scripting and Research Jobs
Ok, time for the first assignment Basicly, I want a short report on the terrian of the battlefield, the nations involved, and the size and composition of the forces in the battle 1st person to get this gets some rep
Ok, so for the Vienna minicampaign, The forces involved we're involved between the Holy League: Poland-Lithuania, Habsburg Monarchy, Bavaria, Saxony, Franconia, Swabia, Baden (We'll, It's impossible to add those forces (except Poland-Lithuania), so We're going to use the HRE as a placeholder), the Zaporozhian Cossacks and the Ottoman Empire and it's fiefdoms: Wallachia, Crimea, Transylvania and Moldavia. Troop count: HRE: 29,600 infantry, 17,800 cavalry, 124 cannons Poland/Lithuania: 16,450 infantry, 20,550 cavalry, 28 cannons Ottoman Empire: 150,000 men, Besieging force composed of 60 ortas (12,000 men paper strength) janissaries, With an observation army of 70,000, but the decisive battle is in September 11, after the relief army of 80,000 arrived in the battle Leaders: Poland/Lithuania: Jan III Sobieski HRE: Count von Starhemberg Ottoman Empire: Kara Mustafa Pasha
Sobieski pretty much covers the basic troop count. As far as the terrain is concerned, I will post a map-layout if I find it. The basic outline of the battle on September 11 can be read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_...nna#The_battle And I recommend you watch this documentary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzjm_6OG7g0
Here is another link to a very good site about Vienna, containing statistics, order of battles, positioning of troops, etc, and a map. I think this should have most of what you need: http://warandgame.wordpress.com/2009...ief-of-vienna/ Spoiler Alert, click show to read: Let me know if there is anything else specific that you want.
According to the documentary, 25,000 tents sorrounded the city. I think we should place tents all over the City walls. And also, we want to make the Vienna fortress walls, pallisides, ditches, gun emplacements, the trech system, how are we going to do that?
Guys, do we have someone to do the map
Well, we have no mappers, we need one
Nvm.....
We also need unit count for Ottoman Empire and HRE
Woops, just took a look at some Polish army statistics from that time period, and it seems I got it a little wrong, let me change it a bit...
