Why do you think the United States has pretty much rejected socialism while european states have a more mild and peaceful form of socialism or social democracy while other states like Russia and china have truely monterous and evil left wing governments

I have a theory that socialism and left wing radicalism never took root in america because there was never really took off was because there never really was any entrenched aristocracy or monied class like in europe(well accept for the planters, but they were more a regional thing and were marginalized by industrialization and the civil war) that really controlled government and was repressive over a long time.

I kinda have a knowledge of communism snice Im the descendant of a polish noble and alot of my family died by the hands of Soviet NKVD troops and I read the letters of what was happening up till the week they were killed

I agree. I also think that just the idea alone that we are all equal(politically) and the idea that the us, unlike other nations, was founded for the purpose of extinguishing the established nobility(as in, "noble" control from England) and giving everyone representation in government is a contributing factor.
Also, we are encouraged from a young age to be free thinking and Independant. Which is antithetical to socialism.

The US was founded with a set of national values that run completely contrary to socialism. We're getting there it's just taking us longer.

Indeed, the American mindset is (or what saddly used to be) is to set up your life, stake your claim and earn a living and go from rags to riches through hard work and determination. Socialism is basicly "Let the government and everyone else provide for you.

I agree with you, I was going to say that Europeans are used to being serfs, whereas America was founded by people who wanted to make their own fortune. It's quite simply in our heritage to be more independent.

In The USA we believe that anyone can work their way from rags to riches and that if you want to you can ruin your life while in socialism there are mandates (healthcare for example). Look if i dont want health care and risk losing all my wealth cuz of an injury too bad for me but the people shouldn't have to provide for each other but for themselves and then if they want to for the other
