When a man named Byzas was a young man, he had a vision from the gods. They told him to found a city 'Opposite the blind' and for that he would be rewarded. He was looking for a spot to found a city and came upon a city near the straight between the Aegean and Black seas. He noticed they took little efforts to use the sea to their advantage and then he realised that these were 'the blind', for there was an even better spot less than a mile away on the other side of the straight. It was there he founded his city, Byzantium. Almost instantly it prospered through trade, which gave it the wealth it needed to expand. Byzantium soon grew to encompass the entire region surrounding it, and it remains a strong kingdom today, under the rule of Byzas the 2nd, son of the founder of the city. Capital:

Yeah, sorry Fred, there weren't that many people living in one small area at this time. Maybe take that down to 10,000-20,000 or so?

Aegean and Black seas
And it would be the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea.

Re: The Kingdom of Byzantium(fixed)
Yes but the Aegean is the more known sea.

Re: The Kingdom of Byzantium(fixed)
Yes but saying Aegean would be factually inaccurate. That's like saying
A:"Thomas Jefferson came after George Washington as president of America"
B:"No, John Adams came after George Washington as president of America"
A:"Yes, but Thomas Jefferson was more known than John Adams.

The Kingdom of Lacedaemon invites you to attend a feast... in honor of our new agreement, that we are sure you will accept. Our terms are trade rights and a military alliance. We do not mean to impose, but we are so sure of the mutual benefit that it is hard not to be confident of your wisdom.
