Primarily they're a pike and crossbow army; their militia unit are light pikemen, their main infantry are pikes & crossbows, and they have an elite tower shield & short-pike city guard unit too. They have some javelin skirmishers (sailors), heavy skirmishers (marines), and light inf (duellists) as well, a decent medium cavalry as general's bodyguard, arabyan cavalry and mounted crossbowmen as lighter cavalry options. There are a few other options of specialist units from other factions available too.
When playing in campaign mode all of Tilea also has a wide range of mercenaries from all over the world available at slightly cheaper prices, so it's easy to pick up some interesting & specialist units there.
Hope that helps. :)
Re: Warhammer: Total War - A Call To Arms Released!
Oh this is pretty interesting. definitely will give it a try!
Re: Warhammer: Total War - A Call To Arms Released!
It would be nice to create new units for the faction "Tomb Kings."
I can try to assemble and make small changes.

Downloading soon as well :)!
Re: Warhammer: Total War - A Call To Arms Released!
I hope I'm not alone in asking this, but the installation instructions in the "Click here to find out more" link are a bit confusing and I just want to do it right the first time. Can someone explain? Shouldn't there be a Sticky thread for installing instructions for the sake of user friendliness?
Re: Warhammer: Total War - A Call To Arms Released!
Jubal,
congratulations to you and your team.
I've waited a long time for this post, mainly becouse I want to tell you something more than "Good job. Thanks. Bye." And because english is not my native language, it is difficult for me to do it properly. So I will have to be short, even if I want to fill the hole page with all the praises, that you deserve.
This update is leagues above the previous release. I was so surprised to find so many new units, and all factions so diverse. I can only imagine how many countless hours of work you and your team has put in it. Be sure that your efforts are HIGHLY apreciated.
I have tried and tested many different mods for RTW, both small and big. This is the one RTW mod that I love with all my heart. This one is a hidden gem. I have played your previous release since I've discovered it. It is currently the only mod I have installed for RTW.
And I am not even a Warhammer fan! It is hard for me to explain, why I love your mod so much, I know that I just do!
I am yet to start a serious campaign, becouse I intend to finish it with a world conquest, and this will take me a long, LONG time. (And then I will start again. :) ) I intend to enjoy every second of it. The new unit's textures are astonishingly good. I was so surprized to find so much details on the steam tank for instance. (A steam tank, man!) The new mercs are anoter one of many favorite features.
I am sad to read that this version is "the last and final release" becouse, this mod still have so much potential! I realy hope it will continue to grow and will become popular as some of the Lord of the Rings mods.
Please Jubal, be sure to tell your team how much their work is valued and THANK YOU for the countless hours of fun ahead of me.
Re: Warhammer: Total War - A Call To Arms Released!

Most people have found the instructions given OK; what's causing you trouble?

I can understand what you are saying, let's see if i can simplify it for you.
Step 1. Extract the WHTW file you downloaded to your main Rome Total War folder (Where your RomeTW.exe is). Default directory usually is
C:\Program Files(x86)\Activision\Rome - Total War
Your Rome Total War folder should now look like this, notice the WHTW folder is now in place
Step 2. Now Right Click on RomeTW and create a shortcut. Rename the shortcut if you like.
Step3. Right click your new shortcut and select Properties. You will see a box labeled "Target". In this box the text will read
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe"
Now add this to the end of that box -enable_editor -mod:WHTW -show_err
Now you should have "C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -enable_editor -mod:WHTW -show_err
Be sure to add a space at the end. Example:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe"<SPACE>-enable_editor -mod:WHTW -show_err
Click Apply
Step 4. Double click your new Shortcut and enjoy the awesomeness that is WHTW
<Optional> Step 5. You can choose a custom Icon for your shortcut simply by Right Clicking the shortcut. Select Properties. Click Change Icon. Browse to your WHTW folder and select your Icon from those available. Click Apply and you are done.
I found the install instructions a bit confusing myself. Mainly this part of step 2
"- At the end of the box that says "path" or "target", type -mod:WHTW"
Simply typing -mod:WHTW did not seem to work for me. So after looking at some other RTW mods i had i figured out if I put
-enable_editor -mod:WHTW -show_err at the end instead it worked fine.
Also this part was just confusing and not needed at all
The file structure should be roughly like this:
- Rome - Total War
------- Data
-------------- (Various subfolders)
------- WHTW
-------------- Data
------------------------ (Various subfolders)
------- (Various other folders including savegames, any other mods, etc)
Kinda made me think it required me to place WHTW in my RomeTW Data folder.. But after installing soo many mods over the years i knew that couldn't be the case.. but it may screw with the less informed among the TWC community.
Anyway as i said i love the mod, it is simply amazing.
I hope this helps those having trouble with the install
Re: Warhammer: Total War - A Call To Arms Released!
Really awsome mod. Had to re-install RTW for it and I'm definitely not regretting it!
Thank you!
Re: Warhammer: Total War - A Call To Arms Released!
Is there anyway we can get a step by step from the initial download of WHTW to the first play of the game on steam? Im so lost as to what to do its not even funny. Ive tried for hours to get this game working but its not working! Love your work by the way i cant wait to play this game!
Re: Warhammer: Total War - A Call To Arms Released!
A step by step YouTube video or something. maybe a bunch of screenshots because i cant figure this thing out for the life of me
