TLDR: Do not play this game - it's a scam.
2004 player here - have payed subs for the game ever since, however, the game is coming to its end - CCP decided to make events that caused the T20...
You could always assassinate them - anyway - I just invest 30 seconds to make the campaign last 2tpy, which improves the experience a lot.
In general, I take a slow and easy going approach on...
It's a complex question to answer.
I personally started with the original TW and found it to be quite enjoyable, but only really got into the series when I started to play modded MTW and modded it...
I'm running the game ob Extreme quite smoothly, averaging at around 45 FPS in the Benchmark - there are occasional FPS drops in large battles, but nothing too irritating. I just wished this game had...
Yeah - noticed that as well - it's pretty amazing how they manage to accomplish that major messup not only in one, but in two games.
2006 revisited...
Best vanilla TW thus far. The people whining apparently mostly haven't upgraded their PCs since the release of the Xbox 360 and look at really shoddy releases like rome 1 through rose colured...
Looks like the only way for them to regain their lost territories is having your empire crumble away - they wont achieve that by taking pressure off you...
The AI probably had a better grasp...
No word about family trees and significance of internal faction poltics.
Modders can easily fix the flawed unit speeds, moronic napalm javelins etc..., but there has to be some framework to be...
Quite dated system with an I7-3930k @3.2 Ghz, 16 Gigs DDR3 and dual 680 GTXs here.
I've felt the urge to upgrade just because I used to upgrade every year, but thanks to consoles, there hasn't...
Quite a bad mod - romans rarely reached that size before importing gaul slaves and eventually intermingling with them, so especially out of place with the starting date of the game.
Rather...
Exactly - In my first campaign in R2, I set myelf the goal to plant an Oak of Teiwaz in Jerusalem as Suebi, did it, was satisfied and moved to the next campaign rather than grinding through provinces...
I used TW2 beta, radious TW, yarkis battle mod and some modifications of my own over this weekend and battles still feel like pacman at level 256, so yes - battles still need to be slowed down a lot...
Whilst I agree the game is lacking in historical accuracy, naming a German 'Flavus' would be the equivalence of calling an African the bad N-word. Nothing historically wrong with that, except that...
What exactly were these features that have been cut off in your opinion? Having played all TW titles since shogun, I must say that this is the least conquest oriented game in the series thus far. In...
I'm playing on legendary and had AIs begging for peace whilst offering money for it on each turn since declaring war on them.
They actually behave very french once you've secured your own borders...
Family tree with some rudimentary 'genetics' and an S2TW like tree view when upgrading characters.
Rose coloured glasses here - R1TW was far less functional than MTW and even STW. A part of it relates to the fact that the AI couldn't deal with the new 3d map at all and changing the units to 3d led...
I've changed my game to have 2 turns/year as I think it feels about right in regards to character development - otherwise adding skills etc. to a character was just a chore because you knew he'd die...
Of course everyone is entitled to have his own opinion, but after that statement, I just can't take you seriously anymore.
If you seriously claim that this release was worse than ETW, I am forced...
Definitely a good patch - I'm playing this in conjunction with Radious except the Campaign enhancements (since I think increasing the limit of generals again allows the AI to split its armies in too...
R2TW sucks less than any TW game maybe except S2TW did at release. It didn't suck, doesn't suck and will grow to be one of the finest titles in the series. I hope to see at least two expansions...
It's probably because the game, despite being heavily buggy and full of flaws is one of the best TW releases thus far.
Shogun 2 was more polished at release, but since it covered a far more...
Actually, there really isn't a lot to fix as compared to RTW1 or any other game in the series.
After having played each and every TW game, I have to say this game is by far the most flawlss...
The inherent Problem with that is that most console players neither know what Triarii are nor know how to pronounce the word.
I'm sure they'll wait for ETW2 and just call everything...
Judging from your join date, you may have very little experience with previous TW titles at release.
Except for the original STW, I've played all titles at release and not a single one except S2TW...
I have a fairly dated rig (almost 2 years old, I7 3930k @3.2 Ghz, 16 gigs of DDR3 ram, 2x GTX 680 in SLI) and despite this game not even supporting SLI, I can run it just fine at 6000*1080 on extreme...
Way better.
Except for STW and MTW, which weren't bad at all at launch (although they were far less complex), I'd call it the second-best launch except S2TW. AI, unit balance and diplomacy have...
It's a true TW game - every TW game has been horribly bugged at release, and R2TW is even one of the smoother ones except maybe MTW1 and S2TW. A TW game without bugs and a semi-decent AI - now that...
OP has a point.
I've bought every TW game since Shogun and actually, R2TW is one of the smoothest releases thus far imho.
Yes - I have posted my fair share of (hopefully) constructive criticism...
sorry - DP - delete please
1. AI (mainly diplomacy&battlefield)
2. UI (menus and submenus are completely counter-intuitive.
3. The complete lack of love for detail, like bland character development, lack of family trees,...
I bought it and it's okay to have a look at.
However I personally feel I should be payed for beta-testing rather than paying to beta testing considering the stage of development the game currently...
overambitious
8. A burning Javelin makes a difference in damage application or morale, like you die even more after taking a burning javelin to your chest or are more terrified if the javelin hitting the ground...
From my experience, diplomacy 'worked' to some extent - only played a couple of hours as Suebi thus far (VH difficulty - skipped the tutorial so wanted an option to relaod in order to try things to...
Amongst other Comicalities, RTW 1 included Head Hurlers, Screeching Women and Burning Pigs and there were Cannon Elephants in M2TW.
The TW series always desparately tried to include female units...
As we all know, CA have always felt the urge to add ridulously stupid fantasy unit concepts for some misguided neo-fascist ideology that calling itseld 'political correctness',
I haven't followed...
Hit and run?
Kommt drauf an was man sucht - wenn's was Ernstes sein soll stimm ich ja den inneren Werten zu, aber sonst... Mich interessiert's zur Zeit einen feuchten Dreck was Irgendeine hört oder denkt.
...
Hey - I was considering posting these two :disgust:
No seriously - both great - especially right here, right now...
