Yep, that's what I do but I am running win 7 ultimate on my game system, play's any game I want to play.

I like money, lots and lots of money works for me. ;)

For me I keep a 3rd computer set a side to play RTW RS 2.6 and its not connected to the internet and runs windows 7. and all is well.

For me all I did was uninstall MS security update for win7 and 8x and RS works fine. (3086255)

Uninstalling Windows update KB3086255 will fix the issue on a windows 7, 8, 8.1 systems. Then go to windows update and hide the update, this will keep it from installing on your system. windows 10 is...

My windows 7 system had the same problem, RS2 not working after the security update 3086255 so I uninstalled it and now RS2 works fine again. Just saying. :)

I agree with dvk, I have not had any issues ether. my system is well protected and I surf very wisely with firefox browser.
But I do not use windows 10, way to many privacy issues.

RS1 and RS2 are great games, I love them and they work. But I play them on a win 7 system and don't use win updates because there last bunch of updates broke
RS2 and I had to uninstall one of them...

That figures...guess I will keep one of my computers with win 7 or 8.1 and not upgrade it to win 10. already use win 10 on my other systems, that's good enough.

Microsoft could fix this problem but it will take a lot of users to complain about it. I have been on the insiders program for months now testing win 10 and I've sent them feed back about this issue...

C.A. has what they call a work around, but for me it doesn't work. maybe we can hope for a real patch from CA and RTW. the game installs ok just will not run.

I still use the 2004 original CD, still works fine, I try to take real good care of it. But no luck in windows 10, still working on it. ( Ive tried the files above but still no luck, yet.) :(

Lol You bet people with get withdraw. Think I will set one of my systems back to win 7 pro , at least I will still be able to play RS and work on fixing my other one.;)

Still no luck, I get the icon and it dose nothing and still no errors, just goes blank. still checking stuff.

I can install fine, but can not run RTW 1.5 at all in win 10 pro. I all so have the 2004 version RTW 1.0. Windows 10pro just dose not want to run the game.

Anyone know if this will work on windows 10?

I for one am holding off a little on useing the new Hotfix, I want to see how many issues pop up with it. Besides I have not had any "real" big issues with version 1.10a yet.

Question: I was wondering why the Roman Eagle Standard was on top of the flags of all the other factions in RS? or did I see it wrong? Just wondering.

Yep, That was a very bad install, its all done in a dos window, when it ask's hit yes for all. say Yes. That worked for me.
