Definately the city. You would think the same when it comes to the place I live at. It is crawling with mosquitoes in the woods here. One would probably become permanently insane if hearing them for too long. It is impossible to relax in the woods here due to the mosquitos constantly flying around and making annoying noises.

I live by the sea and I am used to go running everytime I get stressed. When I went to college I lived in the city for 3 years and it just stank(litiralty too). I just couldn't relax by going running in the city. I couldn't escape the crowdedness and the feeling of being an ant in an urban ant colony. Whenever I'm in a big city for a long period of time I just get claustrofobic(could be xenofobic), it starts to suffocate me. I definitly prefer the dune landscape and sea to the city. I agree it can be fun to go out at night in the city but it still doesn't beat having a BBQ and fire at the beach at night.

I like where i live. A nice balance of space and urban fun. Not far from london but some nice places to drive that takes 20mins to relax in of course other people do this to. There is no wilderness here. unlike in Derry where you can hop across into Donegal and find space all over and the sad trace of where people once lived....

Eh I hate Indiana's scenery, all just flat corn fields that stretch for as far as the eye can see. There are good parts though, and I prefer the scenery and wide openness of the wild, but honestly I like the city more. Indianapolis isn't an ugly city either, so it isn't that bad scenery wise.

During day, I prefer the country, except my neighbor enjoys four-wheelers and I despise that noise!

Both, I think, I prefer the country for solitude and tranquility, the city is great place to be beacouse off the diversity and diferent posibilities.

I prefer the city, its activeness and energy really get me going, but I absolutely love summer evenings in the country, the sunsets in the countryside are something you see so rarely in a city. However, more and more now the country is for the richer, better off people who don't need to be near city-based work for cash...it used to be the other way around; the farmers and peasants in the country with the richer upper classes in the urban sprawls. I'd love to live in New York one day, but also have a house somewhere in the Canadain forests. I'm a man of changing tastes.

As for me: Nothing beats the Bavarian alps. And yes I also hate large cities.
