Commonly used weapon by my ancestors and because of its effectiveness against armored opponents and horses also probably the reason mtw2 claims pike units were used early in Flanders ( which AFAIK wasn't the case).

I would use a good ol' skull bashin' metal mace, and a true one-handed broadsword as a secondary weapon There are so many variants I don't know what image to post
