Thread: who's your idol?

My idol would be... you don't know him. João Cardiga. He saved my life some times now...

The first time was because he introduced me to the world of equitation.
The second was when I first fell from a horse and was dragged 30 metres with my foot stuck in the stirrup.
And some more shameful events that I will not post here.

He is also a great knight, one of the best knights in Portugal, has done many works of art and many contributions to the equestrian community and to the "normal" community as well.

I want to see if he's really a nutter or the victim of social perceptions.
The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all.

i think i would asked them how they had the energy to do it all

Famous people: Thomas Jefferson, Washington (for their views on government), Antisthenes (for his cynic philosophy) and Hugh Hefner (because he's the ultimate pimp)

Lesser known people: my grandfather (from my mom's side) and both my parents (who, despite both having their flaws, still are able to continue teaching and caring for me)

I agree with this selection of people. Mudd endorsed. Except for your family members, who I don't know.

"Plutarch also points out that Caesar did not have epileptic seizures until towards the end of his life." from here.
So he did not "overcome epilepsy and managed to change the world". He simply suffered from it later on.
