    Not feeling friendly today, Cze?

People are going to keep asking the same questions...we should be happy, it means they're finding this brilliant thing for the first time.

Must be all the typing from posting in every thread on the front page.

right click on the desktop icon and choose preferences, then broose change icon and have a look in the total war folder - inside SPQR readme you'll find the new icon there

for step by step instructions read this post in order to install https://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?p=4288788

the SPQR readme folder is included in the download, so if the installation has been done correctly you should find it, it will look something like this C:\"your instalation"\SPQR_Readme\

concerning the patch first thing you need to do is open your disk version of the game (vanilla)
and then click on options from the start menu
now look at the top right corner and you'll see a number, if it says v1.5 then you don't need to do anything (this is likely if you have a newish version of the game) if it says v1.3 or lower then you need to download the patch from http://www.totalwar.com/index.html?p...l&nav=/us/7/3/

once the game is patched to v1.5 then follow the instalation instructions in the first link i gave you and once finished just follow your original icon on the desktop to the game (it overrights the vannila game)

barbarian invasion might be a problem but i'll have to check and get back to you,

the disk you need is the one you'd use to play Rome total war (you don't need it for installing but you will need it for playing the game)

with vista it's generally better to install somewhere outside of "programme files" but it's not a huge problem if not

I'm using the Barbarian invasion install... Nice thing with that is that it is already v1.5, so you dont need to bother with any updates. Works like a charm for me!

well bob doad it could be worth a try, however it might not work as the readme states
    10. THIS MOD IS FOR RTW Patch 1.5! IT WILL NOT WORK ON RTW WITH PATCH 1.2, 1.3 OR BARBARIAN INVASION.
in other words i'm not to sure

Install what you have, important is to have RTW on 1.5 version. The mod ignores pretty much the rest, IE barb. invasion or alexander like in my case. Then download the mod and install it to the RTW folder. Again, there is entire page of instructions. Check my signature.

more or less - if you have a pack with BI and RTW together then it should be - it's easy enought to check though (see my instructions near the top of the thread - they work for both BI and RTW)

Ok so i saved the whole readme into a document folder and it has the new icon and everything but I can't seem to find where the game was moded cause i can't find the actual icon to press to get to the mod. It has the basic formations, Battle tips, How to acivate script on readme, legion compositions, Spqr kill sheet, spqr readme, spqrv7 icon, talley sheet. It also came with a dat and prefrences folder. Where do i activatethe mod?

did you save the extractor, if so lets start again

first of all select the extractor and run the permissions event that might come up, now select the install path, mine is as you can see, D:\vanilla1-copy\
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

now wait while it completes the instalation

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

and eventually you'll see this screen
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

just select yes because it will have installed correctly

your now ready to play the game

go to the same place you installed the game to (black circle)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

and right click on RomeTW.exe (number 1) now choose send to desktop (create shortcut)

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

this will create a new desktop shortcut
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

now just double click on the icon and away you go

this bit is optional but if you want the SPQR desktop icon carry on

first go to desktop and right click the icon you just made and click on properties
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    now click on change icon
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

and now click on browse, keep looking until you find number 2 from an above picture (SPQR Readme)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

select the only file inside and you now have the SPQR icon
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

just remember to select apply, and play the game as i said before
