    Ok fine, maybe I will get into map making. Though, I won't let it get in between my texturing work.

    All I'm saying is, add some more scenery stuff. Now that I think about it, I noticed no shrubs anywhere, maybe that was the visual problem.

    I will take up your offer I think, and attempt to make my own.

    The maps don't need to be so big, half as big would be better
    They are there as an option to use them, or not, the bigger the maps are the better I'd think.

    Maps jam packed full of "stuff" tend to be not so playable, but of course that's a matter of opinion, as many things are.

    I look forward to many more new maps from anyone who makes them, the real test of quality will be which ones get played, and which don't, then you know the good ones from the bad ones.

    I don't get it where it says "move the .x file and the suffix texture to the Object" in the tutorial. What texture? where do i get the texture?That's where you have to convert the rigid model files and take it's texture and add it to the PnP folder, where do I get it's texture?

    Hi there,

    to get the textures into PnP, you have to extract the models.pack

    the

    ...models\rigidmodels\buildings\modelname

    folders contain the models to be converted to X-files

    ...models\rigidmodels\buildings\aaa_textures\

    this folder contains all the buildings textures. You can just copy the entire folder to your Pnp objects folder, or search the X-file for the right ones & only copy those.

    Hop that clarifies things.

    That's a lot better thanks! But now I have problems with Heightmaps, How exactly do I create them?

    Arn't the buildings supposed to load in the blue box when you chose them? I don't see anything in the blue box!

    Hmmmm, as much as I loved NTW1 and NTW2 this sounds like a lost cause.
    Don't get me wrong I want to play it as soon as possible, but the (probabal) expansion pack for Empire will certainly be Napoleonic, so It's a bit of a waste of time.
    Instead you guys could improve the expansion?
    However there is no word on whether Napoleonic will be the next expansion pack so then just carry on as you are...

    Modding is a fun hobby in itself. If you choose not to play the mod, other people will, and the mod team will still enjoy the creation of it.

    Once again, thanks for the tools. Do you have problems with modders putting your maps into their mods as long as credit is given? I'd like to make my battle mod compatible with your maps, but with your mod being a movie file I think your localization file will always overwrite mine and wipe out my unit names and descriptions. If I could just add the necessary stuff to my .loc and add the maps to the mod that would be great.

    copy dds.exe to wherever your gimp folder is in the path: \GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\
    to check where gimp is installed, you can right click on the shortcut, click properties , and check the target.

    Okay! Now I'm comfused:

    Put the files from the blank.rar pack with this tutorial into the
    battleterrain/presets/mymapname/ folder and replace the colour_map_x.jpg and
    height_map_x.dds files with the ones we just made.
    Take a look at part 1 and 2 again and reference this mymapname folder, and place records for
    it in the battles and localisation tables. Save it as Mymapname.pack and set the pack type to 4
    (movie, because we’re lazy). Drop it in the data folder of ETW and fire it up. If you did stuff
    right, the maps should show up.

    WHERE Is the 'blank.rar' file? it's not with the tutorial, and I tried making my own .pack and the map didn't show up...
