TWC Fantasy Baseball League

We had good success in the Football and Basketball games so maybe some brave souls would like to try this. My 1st year, I think it would be fun.

12 man league.

Drafting on Sunday.

8 categories for Hitting and 8 for Pitching.

HR,
Runs Batted In(RBI),
Batting Avg.
Stolen Bases
Total Bases
Strikeouts
On Base %

Wins
Losses
Saves
K's (Strike Outs)
ERA (Earned Run Avg)
Whip (Walks + Hits+ Innings Pitched)
Quality Start ( 6 innings pitched at least, 3 Earned Runs or less)
Strikeouts per Walk ratio

These are the roster spots.

1 of each position 1st,2nd,3rd basemen. Catcher,Short Stop.

Outfield getting 3 spots, 4 starting pitchers, 2 Relief pitching, 2 Pitching spots(You can put both SP an RP there) 2 Utility spots(Designated Hitters have to go there but any other hitters can go there also)
5 bench spots.

I changed it to 4 Starting Pitchers because in the leagues that have those setting I am in it seems to work very well. 30 innings Minimum pitched per week but won't be a problem with 4 Starting Pitchers per day.

Has anyone every done Fbaseball before? I love doing fantasy sports but I don't watch (nor really want to) nearly as much baseball as FB/BBall. Everything I've seen makes this look tons more in depth than Fantasy basketball, and I haven't been fully committed to that even (I should be stat crunching much harder, and I'm gonna get bounced in the playoffs). If this is a matter of studying 2-3 hours for the draft, working 10-15 min a day on lineups, and checking ESPN I'll be in. If it involves reading every daily box score at a minimum and then checking multiple fantasy sites for daily lineup advice, I gotta pass.

The dynamic of hitting and pitching makes it much more Basketball ish than Football which I like.

Like do you concentrate on 3's and points or go rebound heavy with great FG%?

Do you get power hitters and screw batting avg but get RBI's? Get guys who hit for avg. but not power but score runs and steal bases?

I have done a draft or 2 and they are alot of fun. 20 something rounds and you can get some possibly great players 11 round and later since there are so many players to choose from. Definitely the 1st scenario you mentioned. Couple hours for the draft, keep an eye out every couple of days for a decent waiver wire and set your lineup. Simple as that it looks like.
