L'Armée d'Afrique*
Part Two : French Expeditionary Corp -
1799
* "The Army of Africa", name of the french colonial army
The following display is from my Battle of Sidon against an Ottoman army. The Pasha of Syria keeps on sending troops to raid the lebanese port I just took from them, preventing me of preparing an invasion of British controlled Cyprus.
I love that campaign just for that kind of challenge, fighting on all front. BTW my next article will be on Desert Troops like Camel riders etc.
The Battle of Sidon Hills
French Grenadiers hiding under lebanese cedars
French Line Infantry of 1799, marching down the hill.
Napoleon in Lebanon (fantasy - I know, but It's a game )
French Artillery of 1799 - 8 lb. gun battery reloading
The Enemy: Ottoman Nizam Infantry & Deli Cavalry trying to escape surrounding
Nizam Infantry counter-charging to protect their 12 lb. Ottoman Gun Battery - Yes, the Ottomans have a better & bigger artillery.
Close combat: Deli Cavalry vs. French Line Infantry. Both charged. Nice action
French Chevaux-Legers (light cavalry) charging Bashi-Bouzouk marauders, after firing their carbins.
That's all for now... Next = Desert battles, Epic feeling guaranteed - if you like stuff like Lawrence of Arabia of course.
