May I ask how far off an update with a working campaign is?

Map is ready, the factions in the development stage, scripts are tested, as they were gathering material for 2-d images for events, messages, etc.

And is there any chance the unplayable factions will be playable in a later version? I mean, it'd be awesome to rampage across the map with the Sea Peoples and the Dorians

A player for them would be too easy to play, this faction-destroyers, besides they only appear in the middle of the campaign, at the start of the map to place anywhere.
But all these factions, units will be available in custom battles, and may be a historic battle with the "Peoples of the Sea"
