in the peloponese, it's sparta or argos !! you must clash sparta in the begining or be submit. you can try the peace too, but all conquest will be finish for you !

is there a better way to set off a campaign than to kill some spartans right from start?

Im going to play as Sparta.. because after learning about them in Classics, its a miracle they seem to won the Peloponessian war. I think they need to step forth earlier and challenge the Athenian Empire.

Then ill play as Athens next

Keep an open mind though people, (since there are sparta supporters left and right) many of the lesser known factions are very interesting. There is no faction I wouldn't recommend...

First i'll play as Argos because i want to destroy Sparta!I know it's quite difficult but i'll build a ring of good alliances with Athens,Corinth and Boetian League.I believe that a good control of cavalry in first battles is vital for some encouraging defencive victories.My next faction is Athens because i want to win the peloponnesian war.Next is Boetia cause i like to strengthen the historically weak theban hegemonia.Finally i close with Croton,Taras and Syracuse because the Carthaginians are disgusting and threat Sicily and Magna Grecia all time.Playing as Syracuse i have a ''secret'' plan for metropolitan greece...At first I 'll try to be ally with Sparta but then i'll betray them!Haha, i'll blockade Gythion port and i'll give help (naval mainly)to argives and athenians!I 'll enjoy it!

Love their history and units plus taking over Sicily and destroying those crappy Carthaginians sounds good to me
