Rarely have I seen such a mindless "debate" without arguments, references, or sources.

It resembles rather a thuggish street brawl with words than anything else.

I prefer to take things to their roots.

English as it's spoken now, though technically in the Germanic language family, is barely recognisable as such. It has borrowed so heavily from Latin, various Celtic languages, French, Spanish, and others that it stands on it's own.

Not to mention English is the main language of the US and Canada and I've never seen anyone, no matter how rabidly fanatic, try to pass them off as Germanic countries.
