time for developer AAR
this should prove the effectiveness of firethrowers and snipers
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
french forces: 3884.......losses: 3078.........kills: 1302
german forces: 2940......losses: 2360 ........kills: 2500
the big difference between losses and kills is because of artillery shrapnell is NOT counted as kill. plus the frenchmen kept firing at the trenches while their own troops were fighting.
but shelling of own troops happened very often in ww1, especially in verdun.

niiiceeee now I really can't wait to play the next version
Sooo in fact.... pretty much nobody survived in this clash, right?
exactly. if there would have been one or two german supply troops they would have won easily.
but i concentrated too much on screening and didn't fire at the french howitzer immediately, so mine were destroyed.....you know the story.
the high french casualties came from the fact that i had trenches, snipers and flamethrowers. although i forgot to order 2 of my 3 firethrower squads to fire....

Ya know.... we need an AI to deal with that. Some sort of BAI to handle these units properly.
i know....you know someone who could do this?

Battle :
VH ; smallest size
Evil Greeks vs Evil Ottomans
My side : Ottomans.
I place my army in a D shape, conscripts on first line and high quality units protecting the general.
We both do not use any artillery and so the Greeks get closer.
Both sides fire for like 1 min (150 meters far, I use a 8% deviation in projectile stats) and both get around 30% casualities but I decide to charge keeping my MGs unprotected.
Ennemy horsemen appear from nowhere and charge them (Dafuk, they can hide in long grass ?) they get crushed but my elite units just massacre them.
The two side's conscripts are fleeing so we both send our elite men. I am pretty surprised to see that Evil elite greeks have Sniper-like muskets twice more accurate than mine but as I am behind trenches, I don't take more casualities than the bad men. They charge and loose ~60% of their men in seconds, then fire and as my elite men are already wounded by cavalry, some of them start routing. Only our two generals are left and we both charge with bayonets, out of ammo, and, in the second when my general starts fleeing one of my elite troops get back to the battle, charges in melee and wins.
Victory : Ottoman Empire, in average 92% casualities on both sidess and costly victory because of the unoticed cavalry charge and the lucky return of my men.
Wind from the East's Awards :
lol horsemen should not be able to hide in long grass
good AAR
the evzones(greek guard) should have no muskets too....but they were kinda special force so their high accuracy is legit.

Damn i am good. Not quite an AAR for i am too bored to write about, but i got some good shots from my latest battle, Reds vs Whites. Enjoy.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
nice! while we are in it: making the whites as own faction is impossible in campaign. we can only add the reds as rebels in certain very unsatisfied regions.
i´ll disable the old units by the classical white army units in later period.
