Current project, modelling the important city of Priene

    Based on:

Λέων μεν ὄνυξι κρατεῖ, κέρασι δε βούς, ἄνθρωπος δε νῷι
"While the lion prevails with its claws, and the ox through its horns, man does by his thinking"

Modelling the palace of Galerius, and surrounding area in roman/byzantine Thessalonike:

    Concept art was:

Λέων μεν ὄνυξι κρατεῖ, κέρασι δε βούς, ἄνθρωπος δε νῷι
"While the lion prevails with its claws, and the ox through its horns, man does by his thinking"

Yes it was. That is why the city was about to become the New Rome before Constantinople was chosen. In fact at that era Thessaloniki was the biggest city-with-Anthioch city of the empire. The team that made those pictures published a great video too.
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

To help you more and educate your funs.

The great Hippodrome was the real place that St Demetrius originaly inprisoned and his student fought the Galerius' Champion.
The Imperial Road that is part of the video above discovered in while the Metro constructions.
The road was fully covered with trade stores.

Ignore the greek language , focus on the real findings. The Egnatia avenue of today is 95% below of the Imperial Road that the 1st video shows in 3d.

@ Kyriakos, good stuff as usual. You should make these buildings for TW games too

@ Anthonius, thanks for sharing these videos. The 1st one about how Thessaloniki looked during the ancient time is very well done and interesting

    Thanks

The hippodrome will be an issue. And sadly all that is left other than that is the Rotunda (easy to model). Not sure if i will create the octahedron as well, cause the city already will be massive in CivIII -- though i can use it elsewhere too, maybe even M2TW

    Amazing!
Must be quite difficult to create these. If I may ask, how do you adjust the height?

    What do you mean?

As for difficult, not really, it is mostly tedious :/ And polygon count is very high already (although that is mainly due to columns (hundreds) and trees (high-poly; only objects i didn't make).

Larger render (don't mind the textures; they are like that cause in the smaller render there would be no bump at all if they were smoother ^^ )

Been looking through your renders, I like that your style is pretty unique. But why don't you render on a higher resolution so that we can see more detail?

Maybe, when it is all finished Not that there is much left to model, really.

Another issue is that the archaelogical team only modelled a small part of the city, so again it is not the whole thing, despite having to present it as a tiny miniature for CivIII..
