Lag or stutter?

Sometimes on the battlefield, the troops marching seem smooth, and then everything lags. Tried changing to lowest setting, but still the same. Selected unlimited memory, then unticked it, still lag and stuttering troops movement. I don't know why it happens, is it because of a big battlefield with many units? It happens in sieges mostly I think. Is there anyway to solve this? (The game crashed later during the siege battle) I also have the beta 2.0. My specs; 6GB ram, windows 7 home premium 64bit, i7 cpu x990, nvidia GTX 580. Please advise, thanks

Vram issue for me when it happens I use 2GB which is what my GPU has, and game stutters as it starts to use normal ram instead. Lower setts never seem to effect it.
