At least one person has been shot dead at Purdue University in the US state of Indiana, a university official has said.

The campus was locked down on Tuesday following reports of the shooting about noon local time (17:00 GMT) near the electrical engineering building.

A suspected gunman was taken into custody after surrendering, and school officials lifted the lockdown.

Purdue University is about 60m (96km) north-west of Indianapolis.

Well, I guess it would just happen soon or later, consider last year we got 2 warnings - one was a bomb threat and another I don't remember. Strange enough it seems the colleges I went always got school shooting...

New York has approximately one murder per day. The USA has about a murder every 2 hours. I don't know if it was quite every 5 seconds, even back in the '80s.

Depends which city you live in, cities such as Detroit and Chicago have incredible murder rates due to poverty and lack of job opportunities.

Most towns are safe, the cities are our main crime problem.

The new regime likes to demonize and exaggerate any type of gun violence.

One guy gets killed with a gun and the liberal media is all over it for the next couple weeks. Someone uses a gun to prevent or stop a shooting,however, and it generally won't make it past the local news.
