    Thanks to Imperator of Rome we've now got a legit Angon for the Germans.



    I have to see how thrown spears look as projectiles. It should be terrifying but I want to make sure it doesn't quite look -too- weird. There may be the inevitability of victims with shields carrying gigantic angons pierced through them, but nothing I can do about that. Ignore the odd hand, that always happens in TWEAK

    I thought there was already a angon model in the vanilla game. If you want to minimize the possible effect you mention, you can do a easy trick by reducing the size of the model in 3DS MAX, assign it as the projectile in the VMD and use the regular size as the weapon. All the thing is to not much reduce the model to not looking too odd by contrast.

    Yeah that's the trick I did, it worked well. And there is a quasi angon ingame, but the metal hardly goes down the shaft like a proper angon should (as Imperator of Rome's does).

    I'll probably make it so middling Western Germans with angons use the celtic barbed javelin and the elites use this proper angon.

    Yeah, almost done now. Little more than halfway through the original bunch, but I'm planning on adding 3 more variants, so we leave it at an even 20 rather than 17.

    Correctamundo. For the next update we'll have another placeholder reskin added for the celtic factions. Features a lot of plaid and weird shield shapes.

    When I say placeholder pack, I mean it's just there mainly to get rid of the vanilla stuff and to let you guys play around with some of the new stuff. The unit stats/roster/setup etc has not been changed in any way. This has also been done without any real thorough research, so there may be inaccuracies. Once we get around to our full rework of the Celts, things will be majorly improved.

    Very cool. I'm hoping that the faction-wide guerilla deployment will be removed and the faction balanced correctly, not like whatever CA was trying to do.

    I'll be porting over bits and parcels of it, and redoing a great deal else. So for instance the decorative mail + split tunic will be re-used (maybe mail redone), the helmets I edited from CA's will be re-used, the spara shields will be as will the oval shields. Some of the helmets we used as placeholders will not since we have better/CA models to use, and some armor will be re-used but others will be redone.

    Looks pretty dam good, he looks like a general though. Having said that after Theodosius and briefly Constantius III emperors didn't take to the field.

    Yeah I realize that. But since we have the option to use Emperors as battlefield commanders there's gotta be something distinguishable about them. So all the fancy colours and gems and such will mostly only appear on faction leaders and high ranking generals. One of those game mechanics vs reality compromises I'm afraid.
