Thread: 8 special police officers dead and 20 seriously wounded so far in clashes with Albanian terrorists in northern Macedonia

  1. #1

Default 8 special police officers dead and 20 seriously wounded so far in clashes with Albanian terrorists in northern Macedonia

After last month group from Kosovo have captured small police station in one village in northern Macedonia ( FYROM), now we have 70+ heavily armed terrorists trying to take control in Albanian dominated parts of northern city of Kumanovo

Situation is still unclear, after more than 30 hours of battle, but apparently most of the terrorist are killed, fled or captured . Shooting and smoke is still present in some parts of the city

Albanians from those city parts are feeling into Serbia..

Very sparse news on western media, especially yesterday, but apparently, if it is not on honest western media it did not happen and it is not important (it is so unimportant that further clashes in Macedonia can provoke regional war in Europe )

Not much in western media..Little bit on BBC, where Macedonia officials blame ex KLA groups coming from Kosovo...

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-32680904

Liberal Serbian B92, lattes news says 8 policemen dead, and 14 terrorists counted dead so far..

Also on youtube, but I am not sure how to properly post youtube now, as you have changed it, so it might not work, so you copy copy-paste in your browser

What is VERY interesting, western diplomats are also very silent. If terrorist attack of even smaller scale happen somewhere in the west, it would be havoc in the news.

Also, opposition demonstrations started recently in capital of Skoplje, just after current government said it will go Moscow Victory parade on high level. Also, negotiations about so called Turkish stream pipeline were on the way, and Joseph Bidden was in Athens recently twisting some arms..(pipeline should replace South Stream, and go through Turkey, than Greece, than Macedonia, to Serbia and to the Hungary and central Europe. As some annalists pointed recently, Macedonia is by far the weakest link in that chain..due to its political instability and big Albanian minority which can be used at will. Pipeline must pass near Kumanovo to enter Serbia...Do you math..

Better make a Macedonia thread with all what is happening over there terrorists, scandals, etc.
A man on the TV said the people fighting were not terrorists and it was just and excuse of the government for all the scandals against them. Just to show the situation..

Well...im not sure that any other word except "terrorists" is more appropriate for a groups that assault police stations and kills police officers (8 in this moment)

About the terrorist action,it's another one, sponsored by NATO,without any visible propose but it will bring flames to Balkans. This isn't nothing related to the south stream pipeline? I bet not.

Not even in Euronews, nobody find a terrorist incursion in a European country relevant. There are some dogmas about Kosovo,it's a failed state, sponsored by NATO and mainly US,it's a terrorist state ruled by drug dealers but its a US friend,so they can send terrorist to other states without any major concern by west countries.

It is ok now, links are there for those who are interested.

Just watched Macedonian Minister of Interior, he claims that operation is over after almost 48 hours. 8 dead security servicemen and 37 wounded. 14 dead terrorists counted so far. He also read names of some of the terrorist leaders, all Albanians from Kosovo. Among identified dead, some are also citizens of Macedonia, and one of Albania. Number of civilian casualties is unknown so far

Joint investigation of OEBS and Macedonian police is on the ground as we speak.

Basically its a most powerful drug cartel in Europe backed-up with US government. Also, their recruits are being used as "native liberators" just for sake of Balkan destabilizing. As 4th regiment already mentioned, anything similar in west would be all over the media. So far, BBC and CNN are playing a game of words where "70+ terrorists killing police officers" is being replaced with "conflict between ethnic Albanians and Macedonian Police".... Of course its Macedonian Police....Kumanovo is in Macedonia - Not Albania.

    and arrested members...

Here's a reasonably balanced and fairly neutral RT article on the story.

Is Macedonia a Russian ally like Serbia? I always thought that Macedonia was in the Western sphere of influence, especially since its been trying to apply for EU membership.

It's largely ignored in western media because people might start wondering whether or not NATO was fighting for the right side in 1999.

    hahahahahaha

Kosovo effectively split from Serbia after NATO’s bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, an operation launched without UN consent. NATO intervened in a years-long ethnic conflict between Albanian separatists and the Serbs, which at the end of the 90s saw Yugoslavian armed forces fighting the rebel Kosovo Liberation Army. Both sides carried out crimes based on ethnicity. Today the non-Albanian population in Kosovo continues to be persecuted despite the UN peacekeeping force there. Major incidents compared to ethnic cleansing still occur, including significant unrest in March 2004.

RT .... caring about ... UN consent...

Russia.. caring about ... UN consent ...

    my sides, help
    you're.. killing me

how any news outlet that takes itself seriously manages to summarize the ethnic cleansing that took place there as an excusatory "well both sides did something" which hints that there should have been instead a free-for-all and last-ethnicity-standing alternative instead of swiftly coming in and putting a stop to everything, meanwhile Russia was arming the crap out of Serbia. RT being neutral and reasonably balanced eh? riiiight

Macedonians did everything as they been told in US embassy since dissolution of former Yugoslavia (for country, people and whole region would be better if they stayed in lose Yugoslav federation, but you must listen the master ). No government can be made before "consulting" US embassy. But, Americans will always support Albanians if they need to choose between two. Now, prime minister allowed some Russian investments in the country, went to Moscow for Victory day parade, said something like Turkish stream could be good for country economy...so, he waits for silken rope by his masters...or not so silken, if he resist..

I don't think there was a right side, but I'd say the side NATO chose was less on the wrong side than the enemy. Not that it matters, obviously, and I don't want to take this thread down that path, but either way it does seem to be on the BBC site, and that's hardly a neutral source.

It's weird, good things happen to the countries who made any approach or sign a any commercial agreement with Russia, this guys ,the Albanian terrorists, made this action with a green light from Washington.

Strange how its hardly being mentioned in the western media.
Just goes to show you, it has to be Westerners doing either the killing or the dying, and the Balkans apparently don't count despite being in Europe proper...

Why is everyone complaining about it 'not showing up in western media'? It's on Yahoo's front page, in the Facebook trend feed, and even popped on Fox yesterday. It's just not getting much airtime.

Coverage in the four largest Swedish newspapers (so yeah, no cover up here either...):
    http://www.expressen.se/nyheter/tre-...-i-makedonien/
    http://www.dn.se/nyheter/varlden/blo...-i-makedonien/

Sadly I am not very surprised by this. Serving as a conscript gave me a lot of access to first hand accounts of how the KLA and Kosovo-Albanians view the world and this have been on the cards for a long time. I am still not sure on what would have been the proper course of action in 1999 (Milosevic was a fiend but the KLA are also fiends) but I really doubt that supporting Kosovo as an independent state was a big mistake that directly influenced this.

The title unfortunatelly needs an update. The dead are now over 20 according with recent news.

Because in BBC, it was below a mummified dog.
God forbid the new royal baby got a fever... it would totally push it out of the BBC front page.
