Perfectum!
So there has been not so much progression currently, sorry. I have been very busy the last weeks. I have been a bit on vacation and I have finally done some models for other Mods I have promised my help. Besides that I started to work on a new Mod project for the upcoming Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. And I fear that I won't have much more time for some time now, last school year starts tomorrow... But after that I am probably going to study 3D Game Art. So that's good news I guess :)
And I won't drop this one here!
Why is it butted? Butted maille didn't exist.
Maille should be round, alternating riveted and punched links.
Damn, I honestly don't know what I thought... Well, it was 6 am already. It's not the first time it happened that I modelled something during the night / morning and the next day I can't remember at all at first.
I can't imagine how it was possible to slip my mind. Anyway, I will fix that soon.
Honestly for the purposes of using that boss in Attila (where you'll be looking at it from a fair distance), that is of superb quality! One might even say that far lesser quality would probably suffice, this is definitely way above the texture quality CA's models use, for example. That almost looks like it is a photo of an actual boss!

Thanks, glad to hear that! From what I have seen, CA original models are also of better quality than what they use in the games. I will certainly need to scale the texture resolution down a bit as well (Though it should still look quite similar. Also the TW engine won't be able to render it as well as Marmoset Toolbag is able to). But it's worth it just for the sake of a nice render for example, and it's fun! :) So when I am in the process of painting something like that, despite knowing that it won't look as good in the game, I still try to do it properly and get the best possible looking result.
That's a really nice Button boss, will be great for some Saxon or late game Germanic units.
When is this mod going to be done?
I refrain from putting out any release dates anymore by now. It's just that you always underestimate all the work associated with it. So I can't tell you, sorry. But as you can see in post #63, it will not be done anytime soon.
That looks great!
Tunics were constructed as giant "Crosses" of fabric that were folded in half and sewn underneath the sleeves and down the sides, and then had a neck slit cut in them.
Tunics weren't split up the front, they were split at the sides (IF they had splits in them, AFAIK most didn't). They also had tight cuffs.
