well I was just out driving, it's 4 am, and where I live there's no street lights, there's long two-way, one-lane roads that lead to the stores and stuff... I normally just drive to the store then back listening to music and smoking cigerettes...

So once in a while, you'll get cars that love to speed on these roads, which is fine, going 80-90 miles isn't that uncommon on these roads... I normally just go 50-60 cause my car's pretty old and is relatively slow moving.

So on my way home, this ****ing piece of **** guy in his jeep tail gates me, which also isn't uncommon on these roads, usually I don't have any problem with that cause the cars will just go around me then speed off...

But this guy, before he passed me out, put on his high beams!!!

What was the point of that???

I wanted to kill him.

There was nothing I could do to get even, he just took off and turned way ahead, my car could not catch up...

I was hoping to catch him at the stop sign then flick my brights on him a bunch of times...

But he was gone.

So I was thinking, what can you do? To get even without the following consequences...

1) causing someone else outside of him to die. (i.e make sure no innocent bystanders are in the way of whatever you do)
2) Nothing that will cause you jail time or legal troubles.
3) The damage to him must be greater than the damage you take.

One solution I was thinking, obviously it won't help now, was when the next time someone does it and they are in the second lane, swirve into them thus causing a crash...

I think this would be perfect, how could anyone prove that you did it on purpose??

What do you guys think would work in a situation like this?

Dude, your reaction seems a little extreme for just having someone flash their headlights at you, but thats besides the point; if this were to happen to you again, and you were to think of some way to exact your revenge, don't you think the fact that you have posted a topic on a public internet forum discussing possible revenge tactics will be a little "detrimental" to your legal defence??

And the flaw in your plan is that if the person survives, which is quite likely, the first thing they will do is to call the police. Then its your word against theirs. Also, there is a good chance that someone might witness your reckless driving, and then you're ****ed, quite frankly.

Firstly, getting even for something that is as unimportant as someone flashing lights at you is a waste of energy and immature. If that's the foremost issue you are worrying about I wish I was you. Let it go.

Secondly, if you really really feel you must 'get even' then the next time you see the jeep-owner, follow him home, park down the street, wait until night and then run a key across the paintwork of the jeep. I can't see you spending time in prison if you're daft enough to get caught.

For me, 'keying' is an acceptable remedy to all automotive disputes. I've had it done to me, and I expect people who are unreasonable or rude drivers to expect it in retribution. Tis' the unspoken law in my part of the world.

You know, I actually remember reading somewhere that this is common protocol on roads at night if someone is overtaking by crossing over to the other side of the road.

It made no sense to me then and it makes no sense now, kind of like:
"If I blind them then speed past they will be too stunned to do anything about it".

(Thats right, it was in some 'national driving test' on TV a few years back....stupid trends).

Yeah let it go. My mom didn't one time and ended up pissing the guy off enough so that he followed her home and sat in the street for an hour.

Some neighbor called the cops I guess but it was pretty lame.

But there's a lot better fights to fight. If you're in the mood for raising a little hell then by all means go and muck with his car but I think in the future you should just write it off as some people being jerks.

The time and effort you would put into "getting even" is not worth it.
Having to deal with the law and other legal actions would not make it worth it.
Just accept the fact that people can be morons and that somethings cannot be resolved in a satisfying way for you.

I understand what you all our saying, I know it's juvenile to get so furious about something like this... I'm normally one of the most calm people that can control anger in most situations... but to me there is nothing worse than having high beams flashed at you in the middle of the night on a pitch black road... there's no street lights, the high beams can be seen really really well.

I just can't understand how someone could be so stupid and thoughtless to do something like that...why couldn't he just pass me out without doing that?

I remember when I first got my license 3 years ago, I was 16, I had a problem when it came to merging lanes where you'd basically race to get ahead of the person next to you...

so the kid (my age) beat me and I saw him laugh... we ended up getting the next red light together... so he was in front of me... I went, okay I'm going to get even...

so I slowed down, and (like I said my car is crappy anyways..) and was moving at about 15 miles an hour... and I purposely bumbped into his car... haha

He didn't get out of his car, he drove off really fast... so it worked out well.

I actually made this thread in a way to ease it off my mind.

I suggest avoiding any collisions, planned or otherwise. You can never really control how fast or at what angle, and things can very quickly turn into something you really dont want. Having been in a serious car wreck , I can tell you it all happened in the blink of an eye. Maybe at parking lot speeds, but at 60mph or higher? Forget it. Believe me, you may end of replacing something much more important than a rear bumper, like an arm or a leg.

best solution (other than just letting it go) - call the police, say that a jeep has just past you driving wildly and the guy driving it pointed a gun at you, give the numberplate. Good idea to do this from a payphone though....

Other options:

never key a car - pour brake fluid over it (it strips off the paint and then impregnates the metal underneath, which means when they respray it the paint just peels off again).

Or get an oxyacetylene torch and burn 'feck you' into the side of the car, though you need to know where the petrol tank is.

Or shove a potato well up the exhaust

Or hire a wrecking ball and smash their car into pieces

Or just fit a milan anti-tank rocket under your bonnet

Or (if you are feeling subtle ish) follow him home and write 'feck you' in weed killer on his lawn.
- an even more subtle variant is to find where the gas/electric line goes from the road to his house and then just pour weed killer along it, really freaks people out.

Or catch a skunk and let it go in his house or car

Or take his picture and make loads of posters with his face on it warning people he is a paedophile, post up around his neighbourhood

Ooooo, I know what you could do, you could write down his license plate number and find out who it is on the internet. Then you could find out everything about him. Then, you can systematically ruin his life in an escalating fashion. First, just send him a bunch of pizzas that he thinks is a prank. Then, send emails to his boss pretending to be from some health institution, and claim to be concerned about his gambling/drug/alcohol abuse problem. Then from an annonymous email account send him a bunch of child porn and call the cops on him. Finally, track down and brutally murder his parents, his significant other, and his children if he has any.

isn't it obvious? get his license plate number and call the police. tell them what color car and which direction it is heading. tell them you fear for the safety of the driver of the other car because you have a feeling he has been drinking by his reckless driving behavior. he will be pulled over and getting a ticket within half an hour. what sweeter revenge is there?
