Thread: Error, I can't get rid of

Default Error, I can't get rid of

Every time my PC starts, I get this message.

windows live updater trying to update my windows live messenger along with other things and due to this error I can't.

I tried going into 'regedit' and change the permissions, but it won't let me, no matter what.

It says I got "unsufficient rights" to do anything and "access denied". I can't even get rid of windows media player.

I tried many things, removing the windows live update, turning on/off the UAC, even deleting the registry key and all sorts of things I can think of.

I did numerous virus scans, it comes up empty (no virus).

I booted into safe-mode, still no solution, it continues to do this .

This error is killing me, does anyone has any idea what to do?

I think the only way your going to be able to change this is by booting into Vista as the Administrator but not as the default Vista Admin. The Vista Administrator doesn't have the same control as the old XP Admin does you need to run a command line or something to access to the proper one. I'll try and find out what it is.
