Thread: The "with Honor" thread..

  1. #1

    Default The "with Honor" thread..

In 1861, the Colonel Commandant of Westpoint offered that any cadets loyal to the Southern cause, be excused with full honors, in light of recent events. Fitzhugh Lee led the complement of Officer Cadets loyal to the South, out of Westpoint Academy at the march. The Commandant ordered all remaining Union ranks to attention and that the band play Dixie as they march out....

Such is the honor of war.

So honour equals idiocy and leads to an increased loss of life?

    Sounds 'bout right.
Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...

Should have barred the gates and had them brought up on charges of treason.

    Union forever. Down with rebellion.

But no? The rebellion was crushed. The Confederacy will never come about again.

The civil war is over. Slaves are free. Federal power takes lead over state power. The end.

We can move on now, it's only been over a hundred years...

"neo-rebels" are just as bad as neo-nazis when it comes to holding on to the past, continuously thinking there is some chance of the "glory days" (which usually are not so glorious, in fact the opposite) returning.

    I really don't know either.
I think the Americans fought Lazer-Death Lincoln with a Giant Bear or something.

In a previous life I was a confederate captain,I wore the grey uniform with honour untill I get shot in the penis with a cannonball.
Luckily it dropped at my feet as my balls are as hard as steel.
I charged forward still thinking of my sweetheart in the South her yellow ribbon in her hair. Those good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye and singing this will be the day that I die.
It was glory and freedom I sought and death from a STD that stopped me gallantly.
The south shall rise again wearing daisy dukes and straw hats shouting ''Yehhaw F THE LAW''...........

Sounds like the Wehrmacht officers who thought it "dishonourable" to be present at the murder of untermenschen, yet thought it perfectly honourable to further the aims of regimes capable of such crimes.

There is no honour in war. It is only honourable to those who have never experienced it.
