If we can stop for a moment to consider this. Judging from play testing, it seems obvious at this point that sieges are not going to be fixed in any meaningful or satisfying way as long as Warscape is the engine and CA is doing the programming. No doubt CA has been working to fix sieges and judging from the most recent patch reviews it continues to fail, almost six months and nine plus patches later. It must not really work. Obvious right?

    So please auto-resolve defensive sieges.

Seriously, in my campaign I'm not getting defensive sieges anyway. I can't buy an AI attack, at least not in the way I used to get attacked in Total War games, with full stack armies bearing down on me, burning my villages and breaching my walls.

In Rome II after nine patches I get a CAI that still prefers to keep its cities empty and lurk about on the water, never to consolidate and strike.

Last played: SP campaign w/ Patch 9 beta, using DEI mod playing as Rome on hard. Results: pfffft.

First battle with new patch. Enemy boats get stuck off the coast with no way to rout them... nice.

Think that's just bad coincidence though.

Upgraded to patch 9...seems to have fixed things...didn't have Steam on so it didn't automatically update...which I left on since November.

I had a 11,000 men battle on a grassy fields on high settings and the only lag that occurred was when the two armies clashed but it was a slight lag.

Come on, that's all you got.

I'd still like to get some true SLI support at least among other things.

    Has anyone noticed this:

"Help I'm trapped in these patch notes."

on the wiki page under General Campaign Improvements?

Seems CA still has a sense of humor.

Also, does anyone know if the AMD Switchable Graphics support mentioned actually works?

    Ηι guys

I made a video about performance after patch 9, a huge battle with almost 10k men total

Back to Rome 2's launch, last September not only this battle but much smaller battles with the half men were almost unplayable for me with very bad frame rate. Without any doubt the game is much improved.

Lets hope Nvidia will release a suitable driver about Rome 2.

Has anyone noticed, as a very broad generalisation, that they are making less money per turn with the patch 9 beta than any previous and similar campaign...?
Having started a new game with the beta patch I have very much followed the strategy and plan of expansion etc of my previous one (ver 8.1) and yet I am really finding it more difficult to make much money.
Whilst there might be other reasons as to why that is happening I am wondering could the patch have influenced this...?
I don't remember reading anything that could contribute to that within the patch notes.

now run it with some AA! otherwise looks a bit crap to me...and probably why u are getting away with the bigger battles. aa is badly implememted in Rome2 and cuts your fps down by a long way. cant make out your screen fps counter...

maybe u could try with gem/sweetfx.

sorry not to sound elitist but no aa is like going back to the stone age. we are 2014 not 2002...

p.s i do appreciate the time though it took you to do the vid! thanks.

I use anti aliasing from nvidia control panel (antialiasing transparecy - multisample). FXAA option included in the game's graphic options is awful, blurs the game.

But I can play the game and without it if i gain +5 fps.

InTotal War games i usually prefer performance over quality.

well couldnt see much aa in those shot plus your framerate seemed all over the shop. dips to as low as 15 no?

tbh it's not suprising...although I will re-install myself and test.

tbh i'd use gem or sweetfx forcing aa through nvidia cp is never a good idea in my experience.

Tortoise formation is now unlocked in the Seleucid faction when the player owns the Greek States DLC.
So if you want the formation, you have to buy a DLC that costs 8 (!) Euros. Why?Because "f@!k you!Give me money!"

"Support for multi-GPUs with multi-monitor configurations:

    • Game now detects multiple GPUs and allows the player to pick which GPU is used to render the game."

Has anyone with SLI actually getting usage from both of your GPUs? Or is this just some dumb tick box thing that will let you decide which card to use, meaning just one? I'm hoping when I update it helps a little, I'm using multi-monitors and cards (when I don't have them disabled via pci dip switches) so it's kind of a shock to see them mention anything about multiple cards.

Yeah, the same thing applies for the AMD Switchable Graphics support on laptops. Has anyone tried to see if it works now? It is the major thing keeping me from playing R2.
