    AGE OF MYTHOLOGY - Lite Version

    Many of you are already familiar with the AEGEAN MYTHOS project, an ambitious mod that will make a total conversion of MYTHOS into a far more fantastic mythological campaign.
    A beautiful project capable of becoming a real AGE OF MYTHOLOGY mod. You can get more information about this total conversion here.

    However, I have a different perspective for an Age of Mythology mod in TROY and I really want an AoM experience while focusing on the Trojan war, keeping it as friendly as possible with the original game.
    Basically, my proposal is to make the complete reskin of the units to archaic/classical Greek, an overhaul of unit rosters and add the Norse and Egyptian pantheons through their unique heroes: Reginleif & Memnon.

    This will be TOTAL WAR SAGA: TROY - Age of Mythology Lite



    ADDITION OF NORSE AND EGYPTIAN PANTHEONS IN MYTHOS

    • REGINLEIF


    Backstory: Her name means "Heritage of the Gods." Once a powerful member of the sisterhood of the Valkyrie, Reginleif served Odin by capturing the souls of warriors for his armies in Valhalla. Reginleif fell from grace from unknown events and seeks to redeem herself in Odin's eyes by delaying the Ragnarok. This quest has brought her to distant lands, where a great war overseen by other gods can indirectly influence the beginning of the twilight of the Norse gods.

    Gameplay: All of Penthesilea's original mechanics will serve Reginleif. Leaving a trail of destruction by looting or razing settlements and using battle glory as a "resource" makes perfect sense with the Norse character. The unique Bloodsworn units that require battle glory will be the Einherjar, mighty fallen warriors that Reginleif has the power to bring to the battlefield once again.

    Greek side: As a warrior society, the Norse created a bond of respect for the Greeks, particularly the Spartans. In this way they heard Menelaus' call and saw the opportunity to plunder great wealth from Troy and its allies.


    • MEMNON


    Backstory: From southern Greece he became king of Ethiopia, son of Tithonus and Eos, Memnon is considered almost equal to Achilles in skill. On his journey into distant lands, Memnon won the favor of the Egyptian gods and now he comes to Troy with his distinguished army to aid Priam against the Achaean storm.

    Gameplay: Original mechanics.

    Trojan side: He comes to the assistance of his uncle Priam, for Tithonus and Priam are step-brothers, being both sons of Laomedon by different mothers. This war is also the perfect opportunity for Memnon to be recognized as the greatest warrior of two worlds and overcome Achilles.

    MAIN HISTORY & PLAYABLE FACTIONS

    The events that trigger the Trojan war remain the same, what changes are only two pantheons that cross this story through their respective heroes who, by fate or coincidence, reach Greece. Memnon will fight for his uncle and his fame between two worlds, Reginleif will continue the long journey of looting and hopes to show the Norse supremacy in the affairs of war, regaining the prestige of Odin. An immersive and mythological Trojan war!

    MAIN CHALLENGES & CONCEPTS

    The biggest challenges of the mod is in character conversion and new pantheons: Hippolyta will be completely removed from the game and replaced by Penthesilea, who will be the only queen of the Amazons with her settled faction in Asia Minor. If possible, Penthesilea will have her spear replaced by an axe. The original Penthesilea (horde faction) will be converted into Reginleif who will bring with her a unique roster of units and a new pantheon. Arkantos will also be present in the game, but as a non-playable faction, on Thrinacia island. Other features like improving the AI and merging other popular mechanics will also be part of this project, as Age of Mythology Lite wants to bring the best possible experience to TROY players, bringing together everything that is good from great mods, but without making the full conversion. In any case, there will only be progress with the project after AEGEAN MYTHOS has reached an advanced phase. The reason I'm announcing this project now is to get feedback and help from other great mod makers.
