I really liked the cold conversation between Raff and Karlheim. It gives a nice window into the captain's past and his soul, but you didn't open that window all the way. I found that to be a nice move, to give us just a taste, but not the whole thing, and it shows something both about Raff and about his relationship with Karlheim. All in all, I found that bit of character development to be the heart and soul of this installment, and I think the update is all the better for that focus; it is good to use the plot as a setpiece now and again so that we can focus on the people themselves more.

Anyway, good stuff, and I am still loving it all!

I agree, the dialogue with Karlheim is really good, as is the moment when Raffael is looking at the eyes of his men, surrounding his second in command "like in the paintings of Christ among his disciples" - a very effective description. I'm enjoying this too!
