Will There be Another DoW Game?

They said the current engine wouldn't do justice to Tyranids so here's to hoping they make a new one so I can have some epic SM vs Tyranid battles. Terminators stuck against a wall mowing down an endless horde of Tyranids... ahhh yes.

From what understand about the HH (which is not alot) it was fought between the loyal SM legions and the heretical SM legions led by Horus...I don't recall hearing that these heretical legions were at the time of the HH full blown Chaos legions though...so a game on the HH would be fun but it would mostly be Space Marine vs Space Marine combat...

i hope they introduce more customization in the armies:

Orks get speed freakz
Space Marines get chapter specific stoofs
IG: gets diffrent armies like tallarn and Catchan
Eldar get um i dunno... I don't know much about them

Not really. The Horus Heresy was not restricted soley to Space Marines battling one another. It was full-blown civil war with a generous serving of religious fanatacism and Daemonic possession to go along with it. That means that starfleets clashed and armies composed of men (and women) of all shapes and sizes fought and died- not just the genetically engineered Mobile Infantry wannabes.

I forget that, Guards and Navy only separated after Horus Heresy. Anyway, yes, they use bolters. Laser rifle only introduce around 2000 years after Horus Heresy.

Squats rock!!! I still have a massive army of them. It'd be pretty cool to have a force of biker squats tearing across the screen riping through a hoard of orks.

The funny thing about it is that the Horus Hersey would feature better tech then what the other DoW games have. In the 40k universe a lot of technology, including self configuring colony ships was lost after the Horus Hersey, for some reason I can't remember. There could be a lot of interesting devices and weapons, not to mention Space Marine Primarchs, who are all dead during DoW's time I believe. Finally, they could make the Emperor and Horus as heroes.

Not really, very few Space Marine Primarchs really "died" actually, most are missing or falling into deep sleep (Ultramarine Primarch was like that).

They would no doubt add Tyranids to it, or else they'd get eaten alive by rabid fans. They already said in some interviews they wanted Tyranids as much as the players but they thought the engine wasn't good enough for Tyranids.

The CoH engine... see that would introduce the strategy elements of the boardgame and possibly create a fantabulous game.... hope they do away with the whole building churning out units thing and something more akin to requesting reinforcements.

I would be happy if they just had DoW's animations, new graphics, CoH like terrain and buildings, and make it exactly like a real time version of the table top game. Points limits, no reinforcements unless the mission type you are playing allows it and so on.

It is not sure if this was true or not, but there where a couple of members stating that this survey (by GW and THQ) existed, but is subject to change.
