Thread: Deleting watchtowers

    Default Deleting watchtowers

...is there any way to delete your own watchtowers? They clutter up the map when the front line has long moved on.

The very essence of a freely interacting civil society & indeed post-Enlightenment civilisation itself, is the personal right to own & control your own private property________

Really? I don't usually have a problem with them, I'll just place them off main roads or in heavy forest areas. Places in which I know I will not go, but close enough to borders/vast spaces in my lands, that I can see what I need to.

It would be nice if they were available in cities as a building. You build it and watchtowers are placed in whole province highlighting it. Just as with roads.

Just like Towelie said thats how it worked in MTW1. I think it would be much better that way, the ai always places the watch towers in the worst place.

    Can't rebels capture them?

One game I played, I put a load in the desert around dongola (or whatever it's called)... When I went back 50 turns later or so..... they were no longer working, even though I could see them on the map. I did a quick toggle_fow, and there were a couple of rebel armies down there.

Any army can capture 'em. Even yours, just place your army next to the watchtower in another's faction settlement.

Yeah that gets very frustrating, especially if it's out in the middle of nowhere.

Rebels are drawn to watch towers like moths to a flame

You would have to send your cavalry to the place to get rid of the rebels anyway.

When I see that there's "lights off" on one of my towers I know it's time to get new shiny chevrons for my templar knights. :-)
