VI2 aims to recreate the campaign of MTW: Viking Invasion on the Rome BI engine. It sticks closely to the original campaign, only making changes to correct large inaccuracies, to improve gameplay and comply with the new engine. It is also set a little later than the original campaign at AD 851 - two years after the birth of King Alfred the Great of Wessex.

Ooh! I didn't know there was a new VI mod! I'm starting my university course in a week, and my first module is on Anglo-Saxon England, so this couldn't have come at a better time for me!

So let's see here...Since your "retirement" you have released 3 mod's, a multi-mod sampler and i'm quite certain lend a helping hand to various mods of your choice, here and there.

I sure would love to know what you were like when you were actually "active".

It looks great and would make an excellant follow on from Viking Invasion II.

Sadly it seems to have gone quiet at the moment so may never get finished. Perhaps the modders for this need a nudge or just a little help

The patch corrects some text issues, changes the appearance of a unit (after public demand), fixes a flaw in the campaign script that could cause a CTD under certain circumstances, a couple of texture changes and some other minor issues. It's cumulative, so you only need 1.0 and tis (1.3) to play VI2 at its best.

1066 is a very promising mod and has some excellent modders working on it, I'm sure it won't die that easily.
