Odd way of putting the question, I suppose, but bear with me here.
I'm trying to create a general unit for Wessex that's available at the start of the game in one of the cities, like the king or princes. I was poking around the mod's files and came across this one here: Rome: Total War/bi/VI2/data/world/maps/campaign/barbarian_invasion/descr_strat.txt which lists the start-up forces and characters, like so:

Now, I edited and changed Aethelstan to a different Saxon name (Sithric) and changed his age, but the game crashed when I started a new campaign (any faction). So I changed it back, and instead just changed Ethelbald's name to Sithric (changing the blood relation name at the bottom as well). That didn't crash the game, but when I started, the name was still Ethelbald.
So, now I come to you guys, figuring that I should probably ask before I start pulling my hairs out over this. Do I need to edit another file as well?
Btw, I have no idea why I really need a custom general unit, but I always end up doing this when I'm playing a game that's either moddable or customizable (or both! ). So, any help would be greatly appreciated.
