I am not a hot shot with animations, but it would require to regenerate the files in the data\animations folder (dat&idx) after you change the descr_skeletons file. Ishan might be able to help out here.
It will also involve changing the descr_projectiles file and probably some other files.

Now I have contacted the guys from CBUR in order to get my hand on the original files to compare them to teh existing ones ir Regions and provinces.

What I said was nonsense.
The CBUR files are completely different from the ones from Crusades. I entpacked them and so i saw that. i think we will need the ones from CBUR unless we want to replace the unit as such.

Theres one little thing I came across. As Byzantuim I conquered a spanish city with Royal Arsenal. The cannon to recruit there had no unitcard (info image was correct). I copied #ee_cannon.tga into the data\ui\units\byzantium folder and that was it. Probably there is also a way to correct this through scripting - but that would be up to you
