Kam, well done!
If you're interested in silencing critics for good, and if your submod really and truly took only a few minutes, then maybe consider releasing scaled killrate submods and separate unit speed mods. Killrate + 30%, Killrate + 50%, Movement Speed + 10%, Movement Speed + 30%, ...
Waiting patiently for 1.0 which I'll try without the submod but so happy to see it's here! I'd rep you again but TWCenter says I need to spread it around a bit first ;)

compared to the normal battles of DEI, how much faster are the battles in this sub-mod? As short as the vanilla battles were, 5-8 minutes?

I've been testing it a bit, work and girlfriend keep trying to keep me from rome though, so I have not put in the amount of time I would like to. It's pretty close to vanilla, which is good to me. heavy spears can hold for a good amount of time and sword on sword combat results in lots of death. I love DeI, but slower battles aren't the kind of historical accuracy that I am looking for. I am thrilled that KAM made a sub mod me and others that like vanilla style battles but other DeI features.
I've only payed about 4 battles, so again I still want to test more. I thought there might have been a problem with moral dropping to fast due to larger kill rates but it might have just been cheap units.
I'm so excited though. One of the battles I played, I walled a street off with levy pikes and thought "well at least I wont have to wait forever for the enemy AI to run its stupid ass into my pikes (which it did) but it push through a routed my cheap pike unit! the levys routed! this created panic as i quickly rushed the nearest hoplites to try to plug the gap, the battle came down to 2v3 units and I lost! do you know how long its been since I lost to the AI! I couldn't be happier.
I highly recommend this submod if you don't enjoy insanely long battles. I will check the states and see how they compare to the vanilla ones, however combat feels very similar, maybe a little slower? I going to go play now...

I think regular battles are around 5-10, while large battles with heavy units 10-15.

Having a submod with higher killrates, but the default movement speed would be nice. I like the movement speed but the killrate is currently too slow in the default mod. Even if I attack into the rear of a unit only a few of them die because of that...

Played a couple of battles with this submod. Overall I'm quite happy with it, but a slight decrease in kill rate couldn't hurt(lol). I'd say lower the kill rate by 10% and this mod would be pretty much ideal, a good mix between vanilla and DeI!

Tend to agree. 25-30% faster than regular DEI might do it. But then, it really is down to individual preference.

First version had 20-30% increase and people said it was not enough so I increased it to around 40-50%.

Thanks for this. Generally I'm fine with the DeI combat, it's just that I don't have the time to spend fighting the really long battles(even though they are fun!).

Good thing about those stats is that you can constantly change them during your campaign and it will be still compatible :) For example I would not mind picking faster battles if I would be about to do huge siege ;)

Nothing bugs me more than a single Militia Hoplite unit holding an entire army down for 40 minutes in a Siege Battle.

KAM can you make a more vanilla flavoured missile unit mod, javelins really seem woefully under powered

I think I can, but they work realistic, stronger javelins are working as fantasy machineguns, try to manouver them to the flank or back, then you will get even up to 200-300 kills. If I will make them stronger, then they will rout entire armies if someone will try to flank with them.
