siege battles without stupid walls getting in the way?
The only settlement that doesn't have walls are villages.
The rest of the city settlement-levels have walls, though not quite as massive as castle walls.
do you know if editing your mod to remove walls for good can be done?
It might be possible by doing some EDB editing. Look in the Mod Workshop to find out.
I'm sorry if I'm missing something, or just beeing a complete nab here, but could you explain the final step in the installation process a bit more?
I downloaded your One Settlement type, and put it into the Sub-folder, but I do not understand what you mean by "Run the submod-manager". Is this some extra program I need? I googled it and it returned a "medieval2 mod-manager" but it doesn't seem to be much helpful.
It's the file SS_Setup.exe in your SS6.3 folder.
I ran the setup but still cities and castles in the game. Also, I did not see anywhere I could tick your Sub-mod on in the Setup.
I am supposed to put your files into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods\SS6.3\data\campaign\sub" right? (Vista + Steam)
Correct.
Files put where you told, sub-mod setup still doesn't show any of your submods, and the game launches without it. Do you know of any other way to only have one settlement type, apart from this mod?
Which version of SS are you using? 6.3 or 6.4? If not 6.4, you should download that. OST probably works with 6.4.
Also, my Compilation includes OST. Link in my signature.
I got 6.4. I also have tried to download your compilation and installed it to the folder you specified. Still the SS_setup didn't show any of your mods.
The Compilation installs to the SS folder itself, not the sub-mod folder.
So as soon as I have installed your compilation, they will all be included the next time I launch the game?
You'll have to run SS_setup.exe first.
So I ran your installation exe, the scripts worked, I ran the SS_setup, launched the game, and still the game is unmodified.
Is UAC on? Disable it.
Is SS in Program Files? Move it elsewhere.
Is military education still non-functional with OST in your sub-mod compilation?
Wait....what?
It's still only partially functional.
Bummer. I see the benefits of OST...I always feel compelled, especially with England, to convert several castles to towns. OST removes that annoyance, but I'm a big fan of the education system. I tried to utilize your recommendations for switching out files from Compilation version 5.03 w/6.0 to add castles back in, but it seems that breaks the 2TPY, even after trying other fixes.
So it comes down to OST and partial education, or no OST, full education, and 1TPY! Hmph...I think OST will probably win....I want my 2TPY

Wait....what?
