Hint: I got this by pressing "Return to homescreen" several times although I was already there. I assume it's already known but I could not be bothered to look it up. ^^

Just a single screenshot I took using Aztec's environment/lighting: an Iceni horseman dramatically stabbing the sky. This was submitted in the Picture of the Week competition over in the Artists' Studio, so I did use GIMP to clean it up and alter the color/contrast.

Its like he is summoning a storm.
looks really nice - to put the unit on the side is a great idea in this picture!

Managed to retreat most of my guys, the Aestii not.
Luckily, a turn later my second ally showed up, the Glutones, and we massacred the barely reinforced Budini through sheer numerically superior forces.
A couple night battles around their capital and an assault later, the Budini are destroyed. Not the nomadic threats though.

I really like the expressions on the warriors' faces during battle. Here're my Iceni Corio Runo fighting another barbarian army. Love the tattoos and shield designs splattered with blood!

Sorry, reposted without thumbnails. I think the closeups of their "war faces" and piles of dead bodies in the background evoke the bloody reality of combat quite well!

Here's a new screenshot from a siege defense battle I played last night, showcasing the AI pathfinding XD. I was playing the Lusitani, defending a city against a combined army of Turdetani and Arevaci. It was one of the longest battles I've played in DeI (one hour, six minutes) since I was outnumbered (~4300 against ~9000). Also one of the more fun siege battles, what with the AI actually using their ladders. They only burned the gates down near the end of the battle, when all they had left was cavalry XD.
Anyway, the screenshot and a caption: "Please form a neat, single file line as you flee the city."
