[QUOTE=DavidtheDuke;14634513]The full map is probably going to include most if not all of the major races of the entire Warhammer world. Honestly as different, varied, and massive a project like this is the costs are easily justified, especially compared to buy WHFB figurines. You don't *have* to buy it, once again, anyway.
We are talking about parts of the map not being avaliable on vanilla game, image if shogun 2 only gave you north piece of japan, and you had to buy a dlc to unlock the other half.....

No, it's more likely that it will work like this: You get all of japan in the first game. The second game adds Korea, 3rd game adds China.

Splitting the game up is a good idea. The variety in warhammer is much bigger than any other total war title, so keeping it to 4 races per release is good for keeping up the quality of the races.
I'm okay with this as long as the "expansion packs" are decently priced.

Exactly and it's not like these races are similar. These guys are basically requesting the all the varied races of Warhammer should come in on super massive $60 price tag that would be even more ambitious than a Medieval 2 covering the globe. It's just not going to happen, games cost money and apparently they're selling well this way anyway.

That place you go to when the world becomes too much? I'm in the world. I'm why it's too much.

I don't know if the critics understand how big Warhammer is.

Complaining that only this one specific map will be in at first is like complaining that a Total War game only portrays Europe.

Except, this time, the map will be expanded with later installments, rather than... Not being expanded.

For people not used to the "old world"

    The whole map
    http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/...20130917163104
    High Elves in Uhltuan
    Dark Elves in Naggarond
    Lizard Men in Lustria.
Chaos Dwarfs in the blasted lands have been ignored for a long time in official fluff.
Ogre Kindoms are also far away from the Empire
Arabay does not have an official army or much lore. The nearby Khemri, domain of the Tomb Kings, is more involved if something happens in this part of the world.
Cathay, Khuresh & Nippon also have nearly no lore or army.
Southlands are also a big part of the map nobody knows or cares about.

So, with the Empire and humanity (and dwarfs in the same area) as center of the game the map is usualy reduced to this
    http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/...20110513164512

A closer look on only the Empire

A look from the "greenskin" perspective, focused on figthting stupid empire humies and stunties.

More maps form the old world
    http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/...20110513164512

With the first game, you got the core center of the worldmap. The beacon empire, the nearby dwarfs, the vampire counts in Sylvania (region in the Empire) and the usual greenskins you find all over the world but with strong tribes in the badlands, dark lands and world edge mountains.
Extending the map wider is from a developer point, stupid. Becaus a little expanse would bring Bretonia, Athel Loren, Tilea, Estalia, Kislev and the northern waste on the table. Which would force at least three new factions (Woodelves, Bretons & Chaos warriors) to be included. Which would cost more time and money for models, animations, balancing, quests and a new play style for the map planning besides the battles.

Ranting about not getting the whole world map is a mood point. The same stupid ranting as with "Why do we not get all 16 main factions

in the first game?" If they expand the map and factions with future addons, why not be happy about it? You can`t get everything from start because there is no way somebody would spend that much time and money on such a multitask project just to have an outdated game and a new console generation when the work is finished If CA started working on Warhammer 2012 and will get us our four playable faction starter 2016, think about it what a map 5 times taht big and 12 more factions would cost in budget and time.

And the kick in the nuts: The world they build, does not exist anymore in the tabletop because Games Workshop destroyed it this year to start something new with Age of Sigmar. I pity all the future Total Warhammer fans, who want to get into the hobby and find something else in the gamestores.

This is probably the best way the Warhammer game could've been made. It works well with CA since they'll be working with the same .exe files library and we'll be getting all the fixes in one swoop unlike with Rome and Attila. AND that's two big expansions, not just one with Attila. Considering how huge the project is I don't see a better way they could've done it.
