It has side by side pictures of each graphical setting from Minimum to Ultra and the FPS running in each.

See, the thing is that his computer is probably pretty good. A lot of these settings don't matter much at all to high end computers.
I bet that a lower end computer would see dramatic framerate jumps between different setting levels.
All in all though, even the lowest possible settings look breathtaking! Holy cow. And the framerates are awesome!
Just the anti-aliasing seemed to be the big ticket item. Turn that down and get x4 times faster fps.
I don't get anti-aliasing, it seems to just make things a bit blurrier and give them a bluish filter how is that supposed to be worth 20-50 FPS on 8x ?
I don't know haha. It's supposed to blur things to make it look like there's a higher resolution than there truly is.
I think if you had a 4k screen, you could turn it completely off because it's pointless.
Its looks quite good, even on the min settings.
Prob due to the 64 bit instead of the 32 bits.
It makes a HUGE difference, now a days, when almost every PC gamer has a multi-core processor.
Almost every cell phone, every computer, everything is multi cored nowadays.
It's because 4 mid ranged processors cost a lot less than even a single great processor.
So it's down to the software designer to optimize their computations to the hardware (taking advantage of multithreading and all the cores)
Thanks for the gfx comparison video, it was useful at least in the sense that the game doesn't look crap even on low settings. However, I'm hoping for medium-high settings with ultra unit sizes.
Did anyone else think the zombies looked better with SSAO turned off?
The building details seemed to look the same across all 4 settings.
Yeah, they look soo much better without that Disney eye effect.

I'm blown away by how good the game looks on low settings.
Here's to hoping people with bad computers can actually run it!
great stuff!

Many of my past contributions in the time from 2011-2017 will contain content that now show broken links. Unfortunately I had to delete all pictures linked on TWC that were hosted on imageshack.us. Read why
If you are missing anything of interest, please let me know. Sorry for any inconvinience caused.
I think the optimizations will allow "bad" computers to run it OK at low settings.
I mean 32 bit is not like an alternative to 64, just cheaper. It's instead more like a handicap. You don't complain online that people without legs can't play soccor, okay. That's what it's a like.
Not like men can play and women can't (more of a 50/50 chance).
