I feel like the Alexander Nevsky unit should have Alexander Nevsky's face out. Maybe something along the lines of this
Or maybe even the more "romantic, but ignorant" no helmet look.
Just my opinion though.

Nevski did not look like the scythian actor in the movie. Thats a scythian face that russians didnt have.
Yeaaaahhhhhh that s not a Russian face... this is...
good joke eksdi
[QUOTE=AlexiosThe1st;15368919I'm just the middleman.
well, if you are the middle man, i overestimated myself for a lot of time :-D
Guess we could always make Nevsky look like Jesus, too.
But still, I think Nevsky shouldn't have a face mask. Maybe not even wear a helmet, but definitely show his face.
A helmet of some variety is staying, but the coif and helm can easily be changed. I'll post a few possible variations shortly.

Great work!
Good Job
Much better
But nevsky should have unique elements/gear
He is not related with Kievan Rus', because Kievan Rus' ended in 1132 )))
But he was related with Kyev'skaya Zemlya because he received the title Velikyi Knyaz' Kyev'skyi in 1249, although he not ruled in Kyev.
"In the same winter returned Olexandr and Andrei from the [Great] Khan, and [he ordered] to give him Kyev and all Rus'sian Land"
Love the new colour-spiced units and the addition of archangel Michael and Rurikide trid(two)-dents to the shields.
I still think it's very far-fetched adding Nevsky to Kievan roster, esp considering how controversial this knyaz was as a historical figure (including his treaties and tributes to Mongols and the Neva battle itself, suspiciously absent from any historical chronicles other than russian ones..)
As an idea for the dedicated javelin unit name, you can use the old rus name of the javelin - сулица "sulitsa" (plural "sulitsi"). I will think on how best to incorporate the word into the unit name )
Small comment on their equipment, it kinda looks like a mish-mash at the moment. Several unit variations are out of place historically, imho. I'm not an expert by all means, but I believe these hats and caftans with characteristic clasps are from 14-15 century. Not fit for early period unit.

Actually 'Kop'ya' is plural for spears. Spearmen would be 'kopeyshiki', but this word indicated men wielding long spears. And short spears used for throwing were called sulitsi, as I mentioned. Later and modern word is 'drotik'/plural 'drotiki'

I'm not opposed to removing Nevsky from the roster. I thought him an interesting figure to add and not totally unreasonable given his connections in the Rus principalities.
The hats can be swapped. There were a few other models I noticed that can take their place.
But as for the gambeson I did not think that a kaftan. Those buckles, to my eye, don't look characteristic of the later period kaftans.
And thank for the help on the naming!
I like tge overall changes and where this roster is heading
Found this book

There appears to be helmets with a upside down face om the tip... strange...
I would also add some more diversity to the late kiwvan nobles
