    For those who don't know how to read this let me make an example.

    With "wh2_main_aghol_wastelands_fortress_of_the_damned" the first part "aghol_wastelands" corresponds to the province name, while the second part "fortress_of_the_damned" corresponds to the settlement name.

    This is a list for all the 295 settlements that will be in the mortal empire campaign.

    I had a look through the whole list, some highlights are:


    • Old world campaign has nothing removed from it
    • Skavenblight and Hellpit are added to the old world
    • Lahmia will be added (I assume the currently unused vampire faction "The Silver Host" will be occupying it)
    • Naggarond and Ulthuan are a bit condensed
    • Turtle Islands are definitely removed, so teclis will need a new home
    • South Lands had a fair bit in the south removed, so queek will also need to move
    • Lustria seems to loose everything to the west of the spine of sotek (the big mountain chain)
    • Albion is removed again
    • Western part of Naggaroth also seems to be removed or is at least not habitable

    A lot of settlements were combined with other settlements into new regions with completely new names, so it's a bit tricky to tell where exactly things were removed or added.

    Great work combining the info man.

    I wonder if they "slashed" the map's south and east to serve it to us fresh and new for the WHIII?

    i'm afraid their secretive attitude towards the combined map is going to come back and slap them. The ambiguous nature of their answers have kept lots of people hoping that the map will be whole and we all know TW fans are very moody mistresses.

    So far i've enjoyed the vortex campaign a lot.

    I also enjoy the Vortex campaign and I can understand that the map have to be little changed for gameplay reason. But I hoped that the combined map would be as large as possible and more related to actual Warhammer World Map. In such campaign i can easily sacrifice longer end turns and performance for scale. I could easily imagine setting to combine generic factions for lower performance...simply a script running for first one time. I love to do expansion in extravagant/border/excluded regions like Citadel of Dusk, Tower of Dawn..undivided landscape is boring in certain way. I love island...Albion, Sorcerer Islands, Sartosa... :-)

    -- 35 different legendary lords, and all those lovely new gameplay features from Warhammer II (treasure hunting, new UI gubbins, storms at sea etc).

    How does it compare to the ‘Russian datamine’ map that did the rounds after Warhammer 1 shipped?
    -- Pretty bang-on to be honest
    (this means that the map up is actually what we are getting)

    So there are some parts of the New World that aren’t in Mortal Empires?
    -- Yeah, there’s a whole bunch of design involved here but to boil it down, we’re balancing end-turn times
    -- And bear in mind we’re building this with WH3 in mind as well. (so tha east part of datamined map is actually what we will get in WH3?)

    Will any of the Old World Legendary Lords get new start positions?
    -- Queek starts play in Karrag Orrud ... he’s in contention for Karak Eight Peaks along with Skarsnik and Belegar.
    -- Teclis has also shifted, to the Star Tower off the east coast of Lustria, so his initial concerns are vamps and rats. His is definitely a tough startpos!

    Which improvements from the Vortex campaign will be carried into Mortal Empires?
    -- Rites aren’t something Old World factions will be getting, they’re unique to the New World races and part of what makes them special and different to play.

    When will Mortal Empires be available for download?
    -- Soon, in a matter of weeks is the plan.

    As Eurogamer have stated, 26th October is one of the dates that we're looking at for release, but so far nothing is definite and we will let you know when it is.

    If it was definite, I'd just tell you at this point, but honestly we're still not 100% sure and it may be that but it also may not.

    No mention of Skrolk or Queek moving and reddit indicates Beast Coast is still in Mortal Empires so it seems it will be fairly close to the datamined map but extend a bit further south which is great. So long as that is true the only thing I have to be disappointed about is less changes in the Old World to incorporate Skaven. I was really hoping Skavenblight was next to 1-2 smaller regions as well a handful of Skaven nests added in other parts of the map.

    At least Skavenblight should be a special capital province with 12 building slots like Athel Loren (only unlocked for Skaven) and swamp terrain that causes attrition and -30% movement or something for other races armies.

    I am actually a bit disappointed that it isn't coming out until the end of this month, at the earliest. Probably early November. I might have to put in another campaign.

    He does state Queek moves in the interview.

    Queek starts play in Karrag Orrud, right at the heel of the World’s Edge Mountains, so he’s in immediate contact with Greenskins and a stone’s throw from the Dwarfs, plus he’s in contention for Karak Eight Peaks along with Skarsnik and Belegar.

    That purple map goes pretty far east. .....like infernal dwarves are over there.
    Personally I think the map doesn't really need to go east very much at all.

    Also, you have to have Albion appear and disappear to keep it accurate with the lore.

    If CA can pull this off it will be something special indeed. Fighting the empire as Lizardmen will be awesome! I have a feeling a few patches will be needed before it's fully playable though.

    As of now, you can indeed firght Empire units as Lizardmen in form of those rogue armies or those colonist factions in the current vortex campaign.

    I did fight once where the units consist of usual Empire units like spearmen and those free companies.

    Hope that the southern realm factions really be expanded to include DoW units.

    Yeah, I meant Krok-Gar- Queek moves further north in Southlands. I don't know- if the data-mined map is "bang-on" and Southlands is rotated it might be be as good as I was hoping. I missed Hellpit being added for Skaven- good news but they should have added at least 1 other place- Black Chasm or Cripple Peak.

    Awesome! I just need to decide who to play... I want to play something from the old world, and conquer the new, but those new faction mechanics might come in handy...

    meh, The should cut the east part out and go futhur south.
    Unless their plan is just to leave that empty and then put ogre kingdoms, infernal dwarfs, and chaos stuff in there for number 3. I guess that's kinda cool.

    But I think many of us were hoping to see the lands of Cathy, Nippon, and Ind. I know it's not the most fleshed out lore out there but that means they are also not bound by the lore all that much. ....I bet it would sell great in the all coveted China market.

    Looking forward to taking some heads in Dawiland, if you know what I mean

    Feels like the New World will be quite empty, though obviously you only see the playable factions in this map. The Southlands especially is just Crocodileman and Queek, although that does leave plenty of room for certain skeletons later on.

    According to streamers and early access builds the Mortal Empires won´t feature things from latest WH1 Norsca patch...so not only whole improved Norsca with 2 LL but even reworked skill trees and RoR regiments for some factions. We will have to wait for next patch :/
