Suebi collects troops along the western border of Rugium's region. In the meantime, an agent embarks on a mission to spy on the large region west of Rugium as Jade prepares the troops to attack this region by land. She hopes her spy returns with good news but is prepared to lead regardless of the mission's outcome.
Segovesos and Bellovesos were standing around a table in Segovesos tent. On the table was a map out of leather:
"We should continue our conquest of the territory of the Helvetii, as this tribes seems to be willing to subject." said Segovesos.
"Should we march up the Rhine and attack the Tigurini pagus till to the territory of the Latobrigi? Or should we conquer the territory of the other two pago till the Lacus Brigantinus?"
"We should ask the queen." Bellovesos said. "And build a fort in the meantime in the territory of the Tougeni."
A courier was sent and the Boii began to build a fort.

Great news! In an indicative example of how efficiently the administrative mechanisms work, Sosibius is ordered squeeze the new subjects dry out of their revenue, in order to finance the next attempt for fiscal reform and consolidation, this time targeting the province to the north.
Pontus now struggles with disease afflicting some of its troops,
while the Seleucids fail to fortify the road leading to its capital.
Fortunately with peace established between Pontus and the Seleucids,
there is no longer an immediate threat to their homelands.
Meanwhile, Sparta has conquered Athens's original capital!
With both Greek powers now within striking distance of each other's Cities,
Athens attempts a naval blockade of the City of Sparta
while the Spartan army marches to lay siege to the City of Thebes...

The king rests his chin on a fist, staring at the gloom of his throne room. To his right sits Crown Princess Zenobia the Cruel, and to his left Prince Mithridates.
Little Xenia, Zenobia's only child, plays with dolls on the floor by Zenobia's feet. Her play involves sticking pins into the dolls and twisting their limbs. Nobody knows who Xenia's father was; Zenobia claims she was visited by a demon in the night and that Xenia is a special Child of Darkness. Since Xenia has flaming red hair, several councilors believe Zenobia had slept with a Celtic warrior. On the other hand, Xenia enjoys biting the servants (her teeth are quite sharp) and enjoys the taste of blood.
The councilors, all standing around the chamber, debate different courses of action. They come to a consensus that since the attack to the west had failed, they should instead attack to the east. Mithridates rolls his eyes, then leans back. "And who do you suggest should lead this attack?"
The councilors shuffle nervously. "We thought that your majesty and Prince Mithridates would--"
"No. We have been cursed. I'll not lead an army until I know the curse has worn off."
"Oh, well, then--"
A servant runs into the chamber and bows to Mithridates. "A warrior has come to request an audience with you, sire. He is a Balt, but represents only himself."
"He's a what?"
"A Balt, sire. Somebody from the Baltic lands."
"Oh." Mithridates shrugs. "Send him in."
A giant of a man wearing a bear's pelt stomps into the chamber, with a massive club swung over his shoulder. "I am Kull the Skull Crusher!"
Mithridates and Zenobia both arch an eyebrow while Prince Mithridates' jaw drops. "Did you... kill that bear?" the prince asks in awe.
"Aye, Kull smashed its skull and wears its skin!"
The prince whispers, "Father, I've discovered I'm bisexual."
"Keep it to yourself," Mithridates says.
"Ew," Zenobia whispers.
"What do you mean 'ew", sister? You're bisexual."
"Yeah, but I only lie with beautiful people."
"Kull is--"
"Silence!" Mithridates shouts. Then to Kull, he says, "Why have you come to my palace?"
Kull lifts his club high in the air. "To fight for the Poison King!"
Mithridates nods. "Alright. I'm placing you in command of the army that will attack the Armenians to the east."
Kull grins. "Kull will smash their skulls!"
Spluttering, one of the councilors says, "Sire, this is most unwise. Has this... Kull any experience with commanding?"
"Yes!" Kull shouts. "Kull commands his arms!" he says, using his arms to swing his club in demonstration.
After recovering from his shock, the councilor says, "I meant have you ever commanded other men?"
"Yes! Kull has commanded many men to get out of his way."
The councilor is about to protest again, but Mithridates raises a hand for silence. "Kull will conquer that eastern region for us."

I'd like to switch to Rome. I've gotten bored with Pontus lol.
Rome
Roman Republic
Banner
The banner of Rome depicts a gold eagle, wings outstretched, grasping lightning bolts in its talons. This symbolizes Jupiter, God of the Sky and King of the Gods. The eagle is framed by a gold laurel wreath, representing victory, and both the eagle and wreath are placed above the letters SPQR which stands for Senatus Populusque Romanus (Senate and People of Rome).
Capital
Situated between the Palatinate and Capitoline hills, the Roman Forum, or city plaza, at the center of the city of Rome is where politicians give speeches and where citizens vote. One of the buildings surrounding the Forum is the Curia, or senate house, where the Roman Senate meets to discuss policy. Rome expanded into a great city by the year 266 BC (Turn 7). It boasts over 500 thousand people, large temples, sprawling baths, towering basilicas (law courts), and spacious arenas. To commemorate the completion of this massive construction project, the Senate passed an edict, the Edict of Eternal Vigilance over the Eternal City, which established the powerful Praetorian Guard. These guards patrol the stone walls of Rome, making it difficult for an enemy to conquer the capital or for an enemy spy to infiltrate the city. The Praetorians also serve as the extremely trustworthy personal bodyguards for Rome’s magistrates, making assassinations unlikely. The people appreciate the zero-percent crime rate in the capital city enforced by the Praetorians and are unlikely to get riled up in revolt.
Government The government of Rome is a republic consisting of a senate, three assemblies, and seven magistracies. The assemblies of citizens include the Centuriate, Tribal, and Plebeian assemblies, which pass laws and elect the magistrates. The Senate, composed of 300 of Rome’s wealthiest citizens, debate policy issues and give advice to the magistrates. The magistrates include: one pontifex maximus, one censor, two consuls, praetors, two aediles, one quaestor, and ten tribunes. The Pontifex Maximus is the high priest of the state religion. The Censor conducts the annual census and appoints senators. The Consuls lead Rome’s armies and fleets. The Praetors serve as chief judges and commanders of the Praetorian Guard. They can also lead armies and be appointed governors of provinces. The Aediles oversee building projects and festivals. The Quaestor oversees the treasury and the collection of taxes. The Tribunes oversee the assemblies, propose laws, and can veto any actions of the magistrates.
Faction Leader(s): Consul Marcus Atilius Regulus, and Consul Lucius Cornelius Scipio
Marcus Atilius Regulus (on the left), born in 290 BC, and Lucius Cornelius Scipio (on the right), born in 292 BC, were both elected Consuls in 260 BC. They are both men of honor, integrity, and ambition.
Economy The economy of Rome revolves around the production of agricultural goods, like wine and olive oil; the extraction of metal and stone, like iron and marble; and the buying and selling of slaves to provide labor as well as gladiators. Large construction projects like aqueducts, paved roads, and arenas also drive the economy. Official Currency: the Denarius, a silver coin
Culture Roman culture fixates on honor and virtue as every Roman strives to be a good citizen and a True Roman. Courage, discipline, self-sacrifice, duty, and frugality are all highly praised. Every citizen competes to out-do each other in contributing to the public good. For male citizens, serving in the military is deemed the highest form of contributing to the public good and every commander is obsessed with achieving victory and bringing glory to Rome. For female citizens, bearing many children is the highest form of this public good and every mother is obsessed with running an efficient household (or business or government ministry). All Romans are fanatical about politics and many citizens constantly campaign to get elected to the various offices of the republic. Military experience and giving birth lend themselves well to one’s political ambitions. Official Language(s): Latin Official Religion(s): Roman Polytheism
Military Roman infantry are very well-disciplined due to grizzled officers called centurions, and they fight in square formations called maniples. Armament: bronze helmets with red crests or plumes, large rectangular wood shields, bronze cuirasses (for officers and triarii), iron chainmail, iron swords, iron-tipped javelins, iron-tipped spears, iron-tipped lances, and ballistas Land units: velites (javelin-throwing skirmishers), hastati (light swordsmen), principes (heavy swordsmen), triarii (heavy spearmen), and equites (light lancer horsemen) Naval units: biremes (missile galleys), triremes (ramming galleys), and quadriremes (boarding galleys featuring a boarding ramp)
History The Collapse was a period from 276 to 273 BC in which every government was overthrown and every empire collapsed. People were overcome by some madness, but in 272 BC it passed away and states began to re-establish themselves. The Romans re-established a republic, but with a few significant changes. The magistrates were elected for 5 year terms instead of 1 year terms, and were limited to 3 terms. Women were deemed equal citizens with men and could become senators, but weren’t allowed to be soldiers or military commanders. Female citizens could be elected as Quaestors, the Censor, Aediles, and the Pontifex Maximus, but not Tribunes, Praetors, or Consuls. The first elections were held in 270 BC.
Chrysippus is exhilarated that his soon-to-become taxpayers share his passion for the lovable aquatic reptilians. Let's take them for a trip across the Nile and make sure all our future taxpayers will enjoy the spectacle.
For the coming days I will be away, so just keep attacking the regions southwards along the Nile valley.
@Morticia:
The Senate dispatches the ambassador Cornelia Metella, a relative of the Consul Lucius Cornelius Scipio, to the Boii people.
When granted an audience with Queen Onomaris, Cornelia congratulates her on giving birth to twins. Once pleasantries are done, Cornelia presents a map to the Boii queen of a proposed division of Roman and Boii spheres of influence:
"Rome will acknowledge all the lands north of this border as pertaining to the Boii, while everything south of this border we ask the Boii to acknowledge as pertaining to Roman interests."
In addition to this proposal, Cornelia offers an alliance treaty to the Boii on behalf of the Senate and People of Rome. “Both our people value honor and integrity. An alliance between such people would be unbreakable.”
Cornelia desperately hopes the Boii queen will accept these proposals so she can use this diplomatic win to defeat her arch-rival, Aemilia Cotta, in the election for Aedile in three years.
@Rogue General:
Legio II and Legio III, under the command of Consul Marcus Atilius Regulus, have secured Campania and make camp in a fertile valley under the shadow of Vulcan's Forge (Mount Vesuvius). After resting, the legions will continue their march south to conquer the barbarous Lucanians in Lucania.
The map above also shows Lucania region colored in for Rome.
I'd like to switch to Rome. I've gotten bored with Pontus lol.
Technically a player can only change factions if their current one owns less than 5 regions (Pontus owns exactly 5).
But I'd also love to see the Punic Wars flare up in this game so... have at it

Additionally:
A player can only switch factions if their current faction owns less than 5 regions.
An NPC-controlled faction with 75 or more regions cannot be taken over by a player because it is too close to the 100 region victory condition. Again, NPC-controlled factions cannot win the game.
Well, I think that's a silly rule. I'd stick hard and fast to the can't take over an NPC with 75+ regions rule and leave it at that. Or add a rule like "can't switch factions in less than 5 turns" to deal with headache inducing players like me, lol.

Yeah holdover rule from previous games. "Cant switch factions within 5 turns" is probably a good idea with a serial switcher running amok
Move--I would like to attack the same region as Parthia, is it possible for Baktria to attack it first?
If Parthia's move can't be changed, then attack the region to the north of the freshly conquered region.
