How to create separate SS installation for this submod?

Basically the title, how can I create a separate installation of Stainless Steel for this submod? I'm in the middle of an awesome campaign with England so I dont want to lose my current save file.

I've already done something like this for TATW using this guide:

But I'm wondering if there is a different way for SS. Any help is appreciated, rep shall be awarded!

The process is quite similar but more simple.
1. Renamme your current SS6.3 folder in what ever you want (like SS6.3_original for example).
2. Rename your shortcut accordingly and update the paths in its Properties. There's one for "Target" and one for "Start in". Basically, just rename the "SS6.3" with its new name.
3. Install again SS6.3 and SS6.4 patch. Run the setup and choose early campaign, savage AI, RR enabled.
4. Install SSHIP on top of your new SS install.
That's it. Now you've got your original SS version and your SSHIP version

Actually it ended up not working. I get the load screen then it crashes
