Default Seeking help with console commands

My chief issue seems to be with finding character names. I am attempting to bestow an ancillary on my faction leader, the king of Sicily. Doing this:

    give_ancillary <ruggero> <magician_pagan>

isn't working. I've tried a number of variations, such as different types of brackets, upper- and lower-case first letters, all sorts. I continually get the error message "character not recognised."

I know from trying to fix glitches in the 1648 mod that character names in mods can be a real pig to deal with because they're changed in some files and not others. I've been trying <ruggero_guiskard>, <ruggeroguiskard> etc and other variations, but I'm not getting anywhere.

Are any members of the team, or players who might be experienced with the console, able to pinpoint where I'm going wrong?

Take the character out of a settlement, and make sure he is highlighted.

    Then:

    give_ancillary this magician_pagan

Have you checked in the M2TW Ultimate Documenons? I think there's a chapter for that

You need to use his full name. Whilst he appears as Ruggero, his family name is Guiskard (check the names of his kids in the family tree)

    So the console command is:

    give_ancillary "Ruggero Guiskard" magician_pagan

    I've checked and that works

Also worth noting, if the character has three names, ie. 'Bob of Bobtown', you'd need to write his name like this: give_ancillary "Bob of_Bobtown" magician_pagan.
