    Mod Description:
This is a modification for Medieval II: Total War aiming to add the Tzardom of Bulgaria as a playable faction from the starting date of 1072, the rebellion of Georgi Voiteh and Konstantin Bodin, to the end of the game in 1500. Our aim is to create a historically accurate mod, given the conditions, and to enrich the gaming experience with new features such as titles for the tzar according to the player’s accomplishments.

    General Historical facts:
While the Tzardom of Bulgaria was subjugated by the Byzantine emperor Basil II the Bulgar-slayer in 1018, the Bulgarians revolted several times with varying successes. The first major revolt in 1040, led by Petar Delyan, managed to temporarily free large parts of Bulgaria until the tsar - Petar Delyan – was betrayed, blinded and the rebellion crushed; in Norse legends he is the famous blind king fighting Harald Hardråda. More rebellions followed up to the actual liberation of Bulgaria in the late XIIth century, by which time the Byzantine empire practically had only formal control over Northern Bulgaria, also known as Moesia. In our mod the player controls the rebellion of Georgi Voiteh and has the chance to change its actual course and liberate the state in 1072.
    Objectives:
We’re trying to represent the Medieval Bulgarian army as accurately as possible based on the limited information concerning armor and weapons from the era. Sadly, this topic isn’t receiving much attention in modern Bulgaria, some claiming it to be even “historically-irrelevant”. Since it is still not possible to create custom models, we’ll be retexturing the original units with (mostly) completely new textures.
We will also add new, accurate regions to the map - overall 25. They're mostly East orientated - North-Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Balkans, because these areas were neglected by CA in the vanilla version over the western ones.
One of our main objectives is to make the game much more harder and to improve the overall gameplay. For this purpose we've added limited recruitment for all elite units (knights, nobles and all dismounted and elite units). Also we've included faction specific unit orientation - now every faction must rely on its most popular units. F.e. now England will indeed have limited heavy cavalry, but will have unlimited reserves of longbows and infantry, the Almoravids will rely mostly on spears and archers with light cavalry backup and so on...
This way the player must carefully plan what, when and where to recruit.
In the mod 1 turn equals 1 year and aging is 1 year per turn.
New historicaly accurate starting positions for all factions and some nations renamed for better historical accuracy.
Incorporated "Era system" for the units and some buildings.
At last, but not least, we've included parts (or full set) from all the best mods out there (in our own opinion) - Ultimate AI 1.3 - GrandVIZ, Burreck's New European Skins and K&K (without the new units), Darth Vader's Battle formations and AI, Scripts from DLV (Field Cost Script and Money script changed by us to suit the needs of the mod), Point Black's EDU file and few other minor mods, which you'll see later .
Custom music, names, unit and character portraits are also planned (and some already included) and many more minor changesa are to follow.
