Along the theme of this thread, I've been trying to get battlefield banners to appear to no avail. I've got all my strat banners working and have also tried everything that many of threads have said. Is there a way that these may have been disabled? I've compared my files with a working mod that has banners and all the files I check mine match. Any help would be great.
I'm just looking to get the unit banner to show up to mark the entire unit. I've added an officer and made him a flag bearer to try and get any banners but none have appeared yet. I tried what you posted BM and went to that post to re-read it and implemented it in configuration.cfg file but that also didn't work, tried =1 and =0. I appreciate your help, if you have anymore ideas I'm happy to listen
Thank you BM for pointing me in the right direction of the .cfg file. For some reason when I updated it via notepad++ it wouldn't see it but for some reason when I did it out of the actual folder and moved it and replaced the original it started working. Again thank you, if I could rep you definately deserves mine.
Well, I've added flag unit into the game from DLV mod, but the flag has no animation. I added descr_banners_new file too, without any effect. What did I miss?
upd. I find it - adding animation pack is necessary.
Bannermen can be as any unit in this game:
Explain:
Bannermen may use a spesific banner (your choice of faction or unit) but the rest can be as anyother unit models.
I mean heads, bodies , legs varietion.
Example:
These bannermen use only one banner (for their units)
But they also use the ENTIRE varietion of their unit parts.
So...if you have more than one unit the bannermen may not look the same !
That can be done with Officers, Generals etc!

One more question about officers. Their EDU parameters (damage level, armour ect.) are same as unit they attached, or they're from officer's own EDU description?
For example, I'm addind Late Bodyguard as an officer to Mounted Sergeants.
Officer and bannerman are decorative "soldiers" in the battle.
The game engine adds two more soldiers in each unit's number of soldiers.

That's what I thought but I read somewhere that they have stats that we can't change. Maybe they only meant that we can't mod those extra stats that the game gives to them on top of the BG stats, other than giving them extra hitpoints via traits/ancs.

It would seem so.
Some time ago I asked a similar question and got the answer that their stats are identical.
Even if the unit has shields and the officers are not holding shields they would have the shield stats, though I was never able to confirm that, so it could be wrong for all I know.
