I guess. Still, Danish names are kinda similar to German names, and both languages are of Germanic origin. "Dieter" comes from "Dietrich", which is related to the English name "Derrick". So, what would be the form of that in Danish?
In any case, it's supposed to be just the english-language form of whatever his Danish name would be.

Why? Is it a very un-norse name? It is Germanic, is it not?

Yes the languages are from the same base branch of the Western Indoeuropean language, Germanic.

But Germanic divides into two sub-branches West Germanic (German, Dutch and English) and Nordic.
Nordic is again divided into another two branches; West Nordic and East Nordic.
Danish and Swedish belongs to the East Nordic branch while Norweigan and Icelandic belongs to the West Nordic Branch.

Funny enough Danes have an easier time understanding what Norwegians say than what the Swedes say.

That's still pretty damn good, though. Better than I could do on paper, at least with that subject matter.

I'm better at drawing static characters and buildings, like so:

Charles I, Emperor of America and Mexico, King of Canada and Alaska, Protector of Central America.

So I got bored, and when I got into my usual drawing practices and exercises, I found myself stuck on what to do in my female body studies.

So then I wanted to do some Medieval 2 TW fanart. Thus, I combined both of these endeavors by doing the always loveable female-version warrior drawings. It's both cool for my fandom and sexy, I find.

Here's my first attempt, rather unfinished. Ghazi Lady!

And a short joke comic about priests, heretics, and imams. :3
